A 100 page very well-written free and first in series murder mystery story set in Regency England narrated by a young woman who loves to read about murder then uses her keen analytical mind to help solve a murder at a house party.

This writer has the potential to be a very good author. The only problem I have with the book is the missing pieces. Although everything is tied together at the end, the author skips important events and insufficiently documents time changes and character development, leaving the reader looking to see if they inadvertantly skipped part of the book.

Chapter 3 ended abruptly after the preacher fell from the carriage and chapter 4 began with Becky sneaking out to look for clues related to "the" murder. An important section of the book is missing. Without the background related to the murder, the story was impossible to follow.
