As the name suggests the murderer in this medieval tale choses to disguise themselves as a monk or friar with a cowl covering their head so they cannot be recognised. This is another adventure of Sir Hugh Corbett, clerk to King Edward I and once again his master sends him off to solve a series of murders. The early victims were all prostitutes but when a titled lady becomes the killer¿s subject action must be taken. Doherty never fails to produce a great read, his historical novels are impossible to put down. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
