Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"This updated version, released after a gap of six years, contains 300 new images the quality of which is excellent. More importantly for trainees, who appear to be the main target audience of the authors, the number of pages is less at approximatley 550 pages... As a trainee, what would attract one towards the book are a few basic things and we are glad that the authors have stayted true to those principles. The book is easy to read and where necessary the authors have tried their best to make difficult concepts clear...The book is also excellent because, while it is not a very detailed reference book, most pathology seen commonly in pratical sc enarios and examination settings are covered and trainees are generally given a good introduction to musculoskeletal imaging.

Doody's Review Service
Reviewer: Yulia Melenevsky, MD (Medical College of Georgia)
Description: This is an update of a concise book covering all aspects of musculoskeletal radiology. The previous edition was published in 2007.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a clear, concise, clinically-oriented review of the multitude of musculoskeletal imaging topics. The book definitely meets these objectives.
Audience: It is appropriate for radiology residents and general radiologists interpreting musculoskeletal studies. It also can serve nonradiologists who wish to improve their interpretive skills.
Features: The book features an extensive review of musculoskeletal trauma imaging, organized by anatomic region, followed by chapters on arthritis, tumors, infection, and metabolic bone disease. Separate chapters outline techniques for commonly performed procedures, which are updated in this edition. The text is supplemented with high quality, well-annotated images and illustrations. Key concepts boxes in each chapter emphasize high-yield facts and reinforce learning of clinically important information. The fully searchable full text, which includes downloadable images, is available online.
Assessment: This clearly-written compact book is well organized and easy to read. Overall, it is a great resource for radiology residents and general radiologists. The 300 new images, updated chapters on procedures, and the access to the fully searchable online version are a few of the many reasons to own this new edition.
