Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Ruth Thomson's Museum of Art: Masterpieces kit contains everything kids need to inspire a career as a curator or independent art collector. The sturdy carrying case holds an informative book with recommendations for viewing works of art and hands-on activities, a timeline of masterpieces from 1200-1900 as well as reusable stickers and a guide for designing your own gallery. A brush, paint and cotton cloth for restoring a mini-Mona Lisa and a finished copy framed in gold complete the package. Children's Literature
It isn't often that children get the chance to learn about the inner workings of an art museum. This delightful kit will let them practice restoring an artwork, arrange a gallery exhibition the way they would like it arranged, learn new ways to look at paintings and good questions to ponder. The author's text is very informative and colorfully illustrated with famous works of art. Special notes on each subject feature details of the art that the reader should particularly notice. Graph sheets and a clear grid will help the budding artist learn the proportions of painting. A few visits to art museums are in order before and after working with this kit. The perfect gift for that special child in your life. 2001, Quarto Children's Books,
