    It's addictive

Musical Comedy Improv is a thrilling and addictive pursuit. As a veteran performer of the genre, I am pleased to see a book and companion CD finally on the market. There are many terrific morsels included, and the CD practice tracks are a real gift. There are differences between methods that Pollock presents and those of other schools. Yet, the fundamentals are all there and, ultimately, the rules are all made to be broken anyway. My own bias, having studied and perfomed this for a while, is that the book may be confusing or overwhelming for those with NO experience in improv or musical comedy improv. Regardless, I do encourage everyone to try it, and I would recommend backing it up with a workshop in your local area.
