"Musings from a Cluttered Mind" will finally answer the burning question his readers have had for years: "What the heck was he thinking when he wrote that?" This collection of forty-seven nonfiction short stories features two emotionally packed stories that will cause readers to pause, look at their lives, and the world around them differently. The Little White Duck: Trying to write a story about how and why one group of people moves away from another is hard to do without offending someone. Meet the Author

As of the date of this publishing, Rick Ryckeley has been a firefighter for over a quarter of a century. He started his career riding the tail boards of engines and clinging for dear life on the side running boards of ladder trucks. A veteran firefighter at the time of 9/11, he was profoundly moved by the event and did something he had never done before. He wrote an article for the local newspaper. It was published on the front page. When he asked his wife Becky, “Now what do I do?” She told him to keep writing if he had something else to say. He has written a weekly column ever since.
During his long career he’s been recognized as Firefighter of the Year five times, received the MLK Humanitarian Award, and named Georgia Fire Safety Educator of the Year for his work and dedication to the education of children. This love of life has shown through his career and continues to shine through his stories - stories of his wife and son, everyday observations, and the neighborhood kids he knew growing up at 110 Flamingo Street.
