Children's LiteratureIn the "Pebble Book Series" on wetland animals, find the book called Muskrats. Learn how these pesky creatures with long sharp teeth survive in the wild. Discover whether they eat plants or animals. Maybe they need both. Do they live on land or more in the water? Where would you go to find these long haired creatures? Check out the map on page 10 and the answer will be there. The incredible photographs show the reader in vivid detail where these hairy gross muskrats live. Do not be surprised if you even feel them swimming through the river. Townsend did a terrific job of organizing this book. In the front, the reader finds a table of contents that gives quick access to all the cool facts. The reference information in the back even has titles to more books on muskrats, a glossary with easy definitions, and a word list/index which helps the reader to find the page number where certain vocabulary words are used. Do not forget there is an on-line link to other resources. This book may seem a little high, but the quality makes it worth it. Part of the "Wetland Animals" series. 2004, Capstone Stone Press, Ages 5 to 8.
