Rodney mullen bio
Rodney Mullen was a young boy who lived in northern California. From the day Rodney was born he lived in a very hard working and wealthy family. Rodney¿s father always believed that if his children had good grades in school that he would give them what they wanted . Since the day Rodney Mullen had started school, his parents had always pushed him hard to get good grades. Although Rodney had it all a good family, strait A¿s he felt as if part of his life has been missing. Soon this was all about to change. On a Monday afternoon Rodney was walking home from school and something caught his eye, something that was soon to change his life. It was his next door neighbor riding his skateboard outside his yard. At that exact moment he felt what was missing had just met his eye. The next day Rodney had built up the courage to confront his neighbor and asked him to try his skateboard out. As Rodney stepped on his neighbors skateboard he felt a feeling of relaxness and joy, it was a feeling of weightlessness, Rodney had never felt this way not even when he was in his room practicing his mathematical equations. At the dinner table Rodney had asked his father if he could buy him a skateboard. Rodney¿s father didn¿t think twice about answering NO! The reason for this was, as a dentist he had too many kids coming into his office with chipped teeth and/or broken teeth. Suddenly at that moment Rodney felt a cold shiver run down his spine. Rodney responded with a ¿yes sir¿ and continued eating. Rodney made it his duty to study this, not sport, but a lifestyle called skateboarding. On the year of 1977 Rodney¿s mother convinced Mr. Mullen to let him skateboard because skating would bring up character and keep Rodney out of trouble. Mr. Mullen agreed to let Rodney skate, but Rodney had to were all pads and the moment Rodney got hurt he was to quit. That night Rodney sat up stair looking out side saying to him self im going to be a skateboarder. Rodney did not know why skateboarding was so important to him he also did not know that in ten years skateboarding was going to save him from depression, eating disorders, paranoia, and suicidal urges. Nine month after continuing skating Rodney became sponsored by a local skateshop. A few years later Rodney started entering contests and winning eachone. Rodney then turned a professional skater by fourteen. By this time Rodney was no doubt the best street/freestyle skateboarder in the world. Rodney invented many tricks such as the kickflip, heelflip, ollie impossible, Casper flip, double heelflip . . . ect. Over the years Rodney has set the standards for himself and for others. Rodney being the first to invent tricks and win 30 professional skateboarding titles. Without him and his love for his nerdy skating, skateboarding as we know it might not exist to this day. It did not come easy practicing two hours a day and six hours on the weekends. To this there is no doubt the RODNEY MULLEN is the best professional skateboarder in the world.
