    A Heartfelt Tribute

Few people have the chance to spend more than three decades not just working at a job they enjoy, but also coming to know - and love - those for whom they work. Peggy Knight had that opportunity, spending 33 years working for the Johnny Cash family as confidante, cook, companion and caretaker. In her tribute book, Peggy shares her memories of those years, from the annual Jamaican trips where John and June supported the SOS Children's Village to the countless acts of generosity they bestowed on family, friends, employees, and even complete strangers. Peggy also shares stories about the many friends and fans who became like family, including #1 Johnny Cash fan Dennis Devine, a Council Bluffs, Iowa, native who supplied many personal photographs for the book as well as the cover photo. Readers get a rare glimpse of Johnny and June at home and on the road in tales both touching and comical. In straightforward language, the author depicts them as good country people with undying devotion to family and those in need. Dozens of color photos underscore the stories, from June¿s four ¿Ladies in Waiting¿ to John's grape arbor at the Bon Aqua farm. ¿My 33 Years Inside the House of Cash¿ is a book that only Peggy Knight could write and is filled with heartfelt anecdotes about one of country music¿s most celebrated families.
