My American Journey: My Years in Poetry Slam and Bush’s America Collide, Poetry. The Klute leaves no politician unscathed in this tour de force.
No one profited more from the Bush years than I did. No one. Not Halliburton. Not the Saudi royal family. Not even the richest 1% of all Americans. Me. The Klute. See, my “career” in poetry slam started in 2000 (well, 1999, but let’s round up) and I quickly carved out a nice little niche for myself as the “loud, screamy, political poet from Arizona”. Meet the Author

The Klute is Arizona’s premiere tourist destination, surpassing the Grand Canyon and that trailer in Camp Verde “what where all the meth comes from”. Originally from Highland Park, IL he moved to Palm Beach, FL, then to Scottsdale, AZ. If you trace it on a map, it looks kind of like the Big Dipper (or Ursa Major, if you want to be an astro-geek. Nerd). He keeps the Grim Reaper on speed dial and he keeps his absinthe on ice (absinthe, by the way, is now legal in the United States, which makes The Klute a little less cool, don’t you think?). He‚Äôs been a member of 4 National Slam Teams from Mesa, AZ, and yet still freaks out every time he has to go on stage. For more information on The Klute, consult your local distillery.
