Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
A day at the beach is something that is fun most any time of the year. The sand feels so different under bare feet, seaweed may be washed ashore after a storm, the waves never stop, and in warm weather, the beach can offer many opportunities for fun. If you are lucky, you might spot a beautiful shell, and more often than not you will see birds, and seagulls will surely be among them. For many, an outing to the beach can include building a sandcastle, and the two children in this photograph are building a very impressive one. The photographs are beautiful, and if you have a beach excursion on the horizon, this may be just the book to read beforehand and to take along. There is also a caution on the back cover which asks kids to protect natural habitats by not collecting shells from beaches. On my recent outing, the pretty shells have nearly disappeared so that warning may not be needed. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
