For those who have read my review of Beautiful Chances, this one will sound almost repetitive. Ms. Rae has a lovely writing style that draws you into her character’s head and makes you feel the pain and joy first-hand. This is tempered; however, with a tendency to allow wandering which can sometimes detract from the plot of the story. There were a few points in My Beautiful where there was just too much information being given, too much detail, that simply didn’t matter (eg. a scene in a diner). I love Ms. Rae’s attention to detail but at times it was details that simply didn’t add to the story line.
And the romance in this story…well, be prepared for the steam to come off the page (or for your Kindle to start smoking!) There was so much sex in this book that I needed a nap. But I have to give Ms. Rae props for the fact that with the copious amount of sex scenes she has in this book, none were ever the same. Nor were they the same as the first book in the series. She scores points on creativity!
That said, I found myself waiting for something more to happen. The build-up to the meat of this story was slower than in Beautiful Chances and it bogged down the story. Once you reached the suspense and subsequent action, it was great and most people wouldn’t figure out the plot twist thrown at them. I also enjoyed getting to meet Lily’s family, especially her cousins, and can’t wait to see where their stories lead in the future. These two secondary characters, especially, have great depth to them and will almost certainly make wonderful “spin-off” stories.

Well, I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Kyle really redeemed himself in this one; he’s firmly on the hot alpha side of the alpha/creepy stalker line in this book. Hallelujah!
This book pretty much starts right where Beautiful Chances ended. Kyle helps Lily to go back to Colorado to confront some of her demons so that she can move on. While there, she discovers some SHOCKING things (ooohhhh, Lordy, my jaw was on the floor) that breaks her already broken heart. The question is, can she move past it all to make a life for herself with Kyle?
I am now firmly a Kyle fan. I wasn’t so sure in book one, but having read book 2…where’s my Team Kyle T-shirt at? He is there for Lily every step of the way, and is everything that an intense but loving alpha male should be. The book is easy to read and really sucked me in. There is a storyline towards the end of the book that really got me…I’m only sad now that I will have to wait until January to see where that leads. It’s creepy, but I really hope that it give Kyle to opportunity to whoop some butt…that would be kind of awesome.
I really liked this book. You really have to read book 1 to understand what is going on in this one, but I think reading them back-to-back will only serve to make you understand the story more deeply and really love the characters. 4 stars for me!

My beautiful picks up where Beautiful Chances left off. Lily is trying to come to terms with the loss of her family and wants to reconnect with her Aunt, Uncle, and cousins in Colorado. I really enjoyed the interactions with her family and some of her friends. The additional characters added depth to the story and took the focus off of just Lily and Kyle's relationship. There is still a lot of adult content, but it didn't feel as forced as it did in Beautiful Chances. The scenes were more fluid and mixed seamlessly with the story line.
The last few chapters contained a lot of action and suspense, which helped to build anticipation and excitement for the final book in the series. Lily finally seems ready to move forward with her life. The one person who is still a complete mystery is Kyle.
At the very end of the book Kyle promises to open up to Lily...tomorrow. Just like the "free beer tomorrow" signs you see at the bar, tomorrow never comes. I guess we will have to wait for Beautiful Dreams, which is scheduled to be released in January 2014, for Kyle to reveal the dark secrets from his past. I have to imagine the events are from his time in the military, but that is pure speculation.
I feel like Alicia has come a long way between her debut novel and this book. The dialogue was more eloquent and there was far more to the story. I honestly can't wait to find out how Lily and Kyle's story will conclude.

I enjoyed Beautiful Chances but My beautiful is even better! I felt we got to see Lily grow a lot throughout the book and I was pleased to see her making progress with her inner struggles. Parts of the book are hard going as some of the emotions she goes through are devastating to read about and got me all choked up.
We also get to meet her extended family. Her overprotective cousins, Damon, Jason and Blake are brilliant and provided me with some great laughs. All the relationships in the book are written really well, they are so believable and that's one of the things that made this book loveable for me.
I'll be honest, I did skim through some of the sex scenes after a while, and not because they weren't good, but just because there was a lot of them and to be honest I wanted to find out who this stalker was and for me that was what had me gripped throughout. I was soo happy that we had an answer to the whole stalker plot and I gotta tell you, I didn't see that coming!
I completely loved Hot, Mountain, Army, Man, Kyle and I seriously cant wait to find out more about him as the first 2 books are centered around Lily, I think book 3 will reveal a whole lot more about her Sexy Alpha and I cant wait to find out what he is keeping from her.
Overall I enjoyed the book and will definitely be keeping an eye out for book 3.

AMAZING MUST READ-I received an Arc Copy of My Beautiful in exchange for an honest review.
I was part of the book tour for Beautiful Chances where we first meet Lily and Kyle. If you haven't already read this book you need to read it asap. check my review out. This book is Amazing.
I was so excited to be part of My Beautiful Tour. I couldn't wait to read more of Lily and Kyle.
So the story starts off where Beautiful Chances finished, Lily had gone with Kyle back to her home town to face her grieve over her parents and sister in the tragic accident that took them. While there she learns some more devastating news about her sister that she didn't know about. Slowly she's facing her fears with the help of Kyle whose always by her side.
Lily and Kyle are so much in love and are learning about each other as they spend more time together. While in her hometown lily receives two bits of news, her Stalker knows where she is and her friend Luke has been in an accident.
There is so much I could tell you about this book, but I wont - the sticky tape has gone back on my lips to avoid saying too much.
Here's a few of my favourite quotes from My Beautiful.
kyle - His tender eyes met mine. " Your stunning Lily. You take my breathe away. Each and every time is like I'm seeing you for the first time, and I can't get enough," he said, shaking his head. "It will never be enough."
Lily - " Show me just how sexy you can be, sexy alpha of mine," I dared.
Kyle - "Each time I look at you, I think that it will get easier, but it doesn't. Your beauty takes my breath away. Every. Single. Time. "
Lily - There was no defined line between where I ended and he began. We were intricately bound and woven together. It reminded me of crocheting. Once the two pieces of yarn were twined together, they were never the same if pulled apart.
Kyle - (after Lily has been reading) "I have never seen you so speechless for that long. It must be a really good book, or you need to join a bookaholics-anonymous group" - sound familiar anyone.
I love this series, I love Lily and Kyle story, along with all the other characters. The story flows perfectly. I love the way Kyle is with lily. WOW, what's there not to love about Kyle Madison, HE'S A HOT, SEXY, ALPHA, SEXY -DID I SAY THAT ALREADY? I COULD SPEND ALL DAY READING ABOUT Kyle Madison. Girls I'm putting Kyle Madison at the top of the Hottest, alpha Book boyfriends list along side Remington Tate.
There is not one thing I didn't like about this book you need to go and buy it now. The Third and final book in the series Beautiful Dreams releases January 2014. Keep watching this space for details.
Alicia Rae is an author to watch out for. Her books are stunning, compelling and truly fantastic. You will not be disappointed reading this series it will leave you thinking about it long after you have read them.
Alicia, thank you again for writing a truly amazing book, I CANT wait for Beautiful Dreams.
This book gets 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.

As the second book in the Beautiful series it's imperative to have read the previous book as this one picks up right where the last one ended. While some things have changed for Lily some things have stayed the same. Though she's trying to put past pains behind her more pain rises up that keep her, and us, on an emotional roller-coaster that ultimately ends in yet another cliff hanger. Fortunately for Lily she has Kyle, a wonderful hero who's always there to support her. He's a rock in her ever-rocky road to healing and my affection for him continues.
As part of her journey to healing she revisits relatives that she turned her back on previously which leads to some powerful moments full of heartbreaking emotions. I enjoyed the family interactions which allowed another side of Lily to shine through. After so much loss it brought a tear to my eye to see her embrace the family she has left and the love and support they give her. Ms. Rae's handling of these scenes though requires a box of tissue as the emotions run deep. After such touching scenes it saddens me that once again the past intrudes with events that were touched on in the previous book but aren't completely wrapped up before yet another cliff hanger arises. The mystery of the stalker is treated as an afterthought throughout the story and wrapped-up quickly at the last minute. That's not the end of mysteries though which further weigh on Lily and show a woman maturing and handling grief and pain in a more reasonable way.
While this story is mostly about Lily's continuing growth we do get a bigger glimpse into Kyle's past that merely whetted my appetite for more. His relationship with Lily is powerful and intensely sexual reflected by the MANY sexual interludes that overtook the storyline at times. That's not to say I don't enjoy a steamy read, but I don't like to see characterization sacrificed for sex. I also felt that this book went on a bit too long. Between the numerous sexual interludes and the drawn-out emotional reunion this book got a bit weighty at times and I feel that a bit of deleting would've been beneficial to the overall story.
Along with the intense familial issues dealt with throughout the story there was an overall sense of foreboding in regards to Kyle. There's more to his past than we've seen and as Ms. Rae enjoys putting her characters through the wringer I'm convinced the path to HEA for Kyle and Lily will get even rockier in the next installment and I'm greatly anticipating it as my adoration of Kyle continues.

A great conclusion to Kyle and Lily's story.
Lily continues to struggle with her emotions while trying to leave behind her grief over losing her family. This time around, Alicia Rae throws some unexpected obstacles Lily's way and gives us in turn a truly touching story of growth and new beginnings filled with hope for a bright future in regards to Lily and Kyle's relationship.
Kyle continues to be as supportive and protective as ever wanting to help Lily all the way through her journey. I was glad to see that the author delved deeper into his past and let the reader know more about him. Although he continues to be a bit overbearing, he makes up for it by being caring and understanding when Lily needs it most.
This story not only centers around Lily's recovery, but her immediate family's as well. Through her interactions with them and her friends, Lily continues to break out of her shell. She moves forward slowly but surely with each passing day until finally she can face her future without having to carry the guilt and pain of what happened.
Alicia Rae managed to bring to the page another emotionally driven story that still had its dark edges, but it also had its light, heartwarming moments too. I loved the banter between Lily and her cousins and the camaraderie and flirtatious interactions Kyle and Lily shared. Their relationship deepened as the story progressed and their physical relationship had more impact because of their growth as a couple. This time around, I am NOT complaining about the sex. It was passionate, edgy and emotional. It fit their relationship and their emotions each and every time.
Finally, we get to the bottom of the little mystery Alicia Rae threw into the mix. It wasn't a total surprise for me, but the overall revelation and outcome was interesting. It explained some things, but better yet Lily's behavior afterwards showed how much she had grown as an individual and how much she had moved on.
My Beautiful is the second book in The Beautiful series and it cannot be read as a stand alone since it is a continuation of the previous story. After getting through this series I am certain that I will keep my eye out for more of Alicia Rae's work.
With emotions galore, explosive chemistry, twists and turns plus some shocking revelations, My Beautiful was a great conclusion to Lily and Kyle's story.
I received this title in exchange of my honest opinion.
