Meet the Author

Blakely Bennett grew up in Southeast Florida and has been residing in the great Northwest for over seven years. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in psychology, which accounts for her particular interest in crafting the personalities, struggles, and motivations of her characters. She is an avid reader of many genres of fiction, but especially erotica and romance. Writing has always been her bliss. She is attracted to stories of self-struggle and ultimate recovery. Blakely is married to a wonderful, loving and supportive husband, also a writer, who helps to keep her grounded. She is a mother, a communitarian, a lover of music (always on while she is writing—thank you, Pandora), and a good friend. An advocate of love and female empowerment, she is a facilitator for a women’s group. She loves to walk and hike for exercise and finds that, since moving to Seattle, WA, she is now one of those “crazy” people who walk in the rain. You can find Blakely on the Web at: BlakelyBennett.fannypress.com.

I was Given this book to review and I must say that i have read A LOT about the lifestyle and the good and bad of it all. That being said This Book is NOT 50 shades nor does it claim to be. Blakely takes you on a roller coaster ride and the emotions that i felt while reading this totally took me off balance. Jane live her life to the "norm" and she is bored. Totally get it and understand it. She is missing something but even she does not know what it is until she meets Luke. Luke never once candy coated his intentions about the relationship or who would be in chanrge of its entirety. Jane falls Hard For Luke and even she has a hard time understanding what her heart and body feels in his presence. Jane struggles within herself throughout the entire book yet something she may or may noy truly understand makes her stay and see where it takes her.As i said above this os not a candy coating of the life style nor is it the exacpt perfect way of it either. Luke lives the lifestyle the way he intends and there is no straying from that. I again say read this and keep your mind open and look deeper within Jane to understand that this is a journey for her Good or bad this is her journey and i can not wait to follow her in the next book...

    Review by: Domesticvixen

My Body-His was a phenomenal read. Nothing like the books I have had the pleasure of reading before.

I had thought I knew about the BDSM lifestyle but I was clearly mistaken. I could very easily relate to Jane Stiles and the life she lived. She was a successful person and just wanted what most women want an adventurous life. A life shared with someone you love. She like most women was beginning to think that she would never meet the right one. She of course has a friend with benefits but that is not what she really wants out of life . When she attends a party with her " FWB" Scott she discovers that this party is not your typical party. The party she has attended is a "sex party" like any other woman ( in their right mind) would do she wants to get the hell out of there. When she goes upstairs to get better reception on her cell she meets Luke. Luke has already set his sights on Jane ,but she has no clue about that. All she knows is she is intrigued by this man. She wonders why she gives in to his demands ( which he demands right away) and why she can't stop feeling turned on by him. Jane falls head over heels for this man and even contemplates his offer of them moving in together after they have known each other for one week. To say that Luke is intense is an understatement. Luke wants to possess Jane mind , body and soul. Jane has trouble listening to what her mind tells her because she has never felt the emotions that Luke brings out in her. Do you sacrifice all of yourself for the one you love? Do you look for someone who is willing to compromise or do you just move on? That is the biggest question left to answer and do we get the answer in book 2 ....You will have to read book two to find out if Jane beign thrown in to the BDSM lifestyle is a lifestyle she can handle or not.
I suggest you read My Body His ( Marcello) right away, because you won't be satisfied with all the stuff that goes on in My Body-His !!

My Body-His is an erotic romp into the BDSM lifestyle from a

My Body-His is an erotic romp into the BDSM lifestyle from a newbie's aspect.  Jane Stiles is a successful business woman, however
her personal life is lacking. She is bored and lonely and is beginning to think that she will never meet anyone to share her life with.
Then her friend with benefits, Scott invites her to go to a party with him.  She goes but feels very uncomfortable to find that she is at a
“sex” party and that Scott has left her and is no where to be found. Jane goes in search of a phone in the house to call from since her
cell phone has no coverage and meets a sexy stranger named Luke. Her interaction with Luke is disturbing but very erotic and fulfilling
as well. Needless to say, Jane is left flustered.
Luke sets his sights on Jane and begins to make demands of her.  At first Jane is at a loss as to why she continues to care what he
thinks or follow his demands, but he excites her like no other and makes her feel alive like never before and she is hooked.  Luke is an
artist/photographer who has made his money by photographing BDSM women in various poses.  Jane is introduced into Luke's lifestyle
and given the ultimatum that he knows what she needs, will never hurt her (unless she needs it i.e. “punishment”) and that in order to
have a relationship with him there would be several rules she would have to follow. She is told that at any time all she has to do is use
the safe phrase, “Get lost creep” and leave, but otherwise is expected to meet every demand he places on her.   After only a week of
being with Luke she contemplates moving in with him. Things are moving so fast between her and Luke, it begins to make her have
doubts,  but she craves his attention, his touch and his approval. Luke continues to demand of her and continues to submerse Jane in
the BDSM lifestyle. The only problem is that Jane is changing her entire life for a man she barely knows, is she loosing her mind, her
self-identity or is this a change that she can embrace and emerge victorious?
A lot of critical reviews have been written stating that this book misrepresents the BDSM lifestyle, but I think if those same critics
would read the note to the reader that the author has placed in the second book in the series they would realize that Ms. Bennett did not
intend to have the reader believe that the relationship between the main characters was “therapeutic or healthy," or that she is stating
that every BDSM relationship is unhealthy or not therapeutic.  I don't want to fill this review with spoilers, however if you read the book
I think most people will realize that the author does not state that she thinks the relationship is either healthy or unhealthy, she is
simply telling a story.  There are several factors that can either make or break a relationship. BDSM is a lifestyle choice, not necessarily
the only aspect of the relationship between Luke and Jane that can come under criticism. I ultimately feel that this is a book about a
woman who has not discovered who she is or what she wants out of life and Luke and the BDSM lifestyle just gives her one avenue to
explore who she could be and what she desires out of life. Luke helps her to discover more about herself by pushing her limits with the
BDSM lifestyle.  This book is a very erotic, sexy romp that is very easy to read and a very quick read also. I personally LOVED it, as others
have as well since I also have seen many 5 star reviews.  I can't wait to read the second installment in this series. If you can keep an
open mind to the BDSM lifestyle, enjoy erotica and want a steamy read, then you will enjoy this book! I give it 5/5 stars! Enjoy!

I thought this book was a fascinating read.  I'm still contempla

I thought this book was a fascinating read.  I'm still contemplating the power issues represented in the book.
The main character starts out as an independent woman but becomes interested in a controlling man.  Their BDSM sexual
relationship seeps outside of the bedroom and his control issues become the foundation of their relationship.
The book made me think about the contradictions that are part of all of us.  We are both controlling and controlled, independent
and dependent.  The main character completely gives up her independence in order to be in a relationship.
Clearly, this won't work for her long-term, so I can't wait to find out how she reconciles her interest in a this relationship
with her independent nature.  This is the first in a series and I can't wait to find out how it ends.

    NOT 50 Shades of Grey!

Not your typical "bdsm erotica." The writing goes well beyond the "kinky sex" most people initially think when they think of bdsm: whips, chains, servitude and an "underworld" where fantasy becomes reality. Although this book does include these scenes (and the reader is not disappointed,) this is actually a love story that is not so "underground" and flows into their everyday reality, similar to the movie The Secretary.

Jane meets Luke and immediately Jane needs someone like Luke to take care of her and give her what she needs, physically and psychologically - even though she has not known it. The point of view is of Jane, and her feelings, emotions and how she handles this new type of "love." The relationship between Luke and Jane moves very fast, perhaps faster than in real life, (perhaps because this isn't the length of a Stephen King novel,) but never the less, it depicts the type of relationship Luke wants and needs and perhaps, so does Jane.

The basis of the story is exactly as the title depicts: her body and enjoyment is now His to enjoy. Jane has many internal struggles: the intense loving and caring feelings of Luke coupled with his corporal punishment and controlling ways. She also struggles with fighting to hold on to her independence; which with her commitment to Luke, she gives up but not without a fight (which is more of a fight within her.) Lastly, how will her friends and family accept this "new" Jane?

The writing keeps you wanting to turn the page to find out what happens next, how far will Luke go? Has Jane had enough? Will she really go through and obey Luke - and risk embarrassment and humility in front of her family and friends? After all, she only has to speak the "safe word" and she's out. But it's not so easy to speak that word knowing that she will lose everything she realizes that she desires and needs.

If you read the 50 Shades of Grey, take the next step and read this book to find out what reality is like. Although the exact story may or may not have taken place, I would not consider this fiction. My Body - His, is written by a mature and seasoned writer who delves into the emotional mindset between two people who fill a psychological void in each other. Definitely worth the read.

A fascinating psychological study in domination and submission.

A fascinating psychological study in domination and submission. Jane's bold choice to relinquish control to Luke leads to self-discovery as she is taken to her limits and beyond. This is a very intense story and I'll warn you now- you won't be able to put it down. It has the kind of depth that comes from being honest and uncensored. I recommend it!

I found the story funny at times, riveting, maddening and fast. I feel Luke's character, though dispicable at times, to be interesting in that he is blantantly honest, but only because he is a predator and understands exactly how to manipulate Jane's emotions. This is a high bar set for the trilogy so I'm anxious to read what Ms. Blakely has come up with in her next two books. Well written and somewhat disturbing.

My body-His is spellbinding. The story line and characters pulls real emotions from you. Watching Jane come out of her shell is amazing. I can't decide if I love Luke or hate him, or both. The power some people can hold over others is incredible and the power some people relinquish is just as incredible. I can't wait to read the next book to see where this power play goes.

    Very interesting read!

I read 50 Shades of Grey and was looking for a book that was somewhat similar but this one far surpassed my expectations! I started to read it and had to force myself to stop reading so I could go to work the next day. Fortunately it was a Friday so that night I finished reading the book cover to cover. I am anxiously waiting for the second book in the series so I can learn more about Jane and Luke.

My Body-His is a woman’s exploration into a world of Dominance and submission that she never dreamed of. Whens Jane meets Luke at a party his intensity and focus consumed her. She is swept into a world of unimaginable pleasure that fulfills her like nothing she has never known. Her relationship with Luke grows each moment that they spend together. Soon she would do anything to please him…even give him her complete submission.

This story is one of sexual discovery, self discovery, and risking everything for the person you love. Jane completely changes her life to give her all to Luke. She is conflicted in a lot of ways, but the pleasure is so intense and beyond anything she has felt that her body often wins the argument.

Jane’s story is captivating, sensual, and freeing. From the first page to the last, I was enraptured by her journey, her discoveries, her acceptance, and her submission. Although she has agreed to fully submit to Luke, I can’t help thinking that she wants more then he is willing to give. It will be interesting to see how their story continues.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
