    Good For Those Touched Unnaturally

My child Jordon, was sexually assaulted at 4 years old in a closet in my kitchen by her uncle. She never told me, and then one day I brought her this book home because I frequently check her out books from the library. I had been ignorant of this fact until i started reading the book to her, and got to the part about hand/vagina contact, she burst into tears and told me all about her Uncle Lumpkin (we will call him) performing 'inappropriate' actions to her while her Aunt Teresa and cousin Cameron held her arms down. It made me cry and abandon those family members for life! I seriously suggest this for any child no matter what their age. ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN ASSAULTED! Sincerely, Sensitive Shannon

    I could identify...

Although I've never been abused, I could really identify with what the girl is saying throughout the book. Sometimes you can just feel that something isn't right. I think it's great that this book encourages children to trust their instincts -- if something doesn't feel quite right, go with it. I used the book with my son and daughter to let them know that it's okay to say no and to trust their guts to make decisions.

    I appreciate this book!

I really apopreciated this book because my two daughters were molested by their father. I liked the frankness of the book. Children need to know the correct wording for parts of their body. After dealing with what I dealt with, it was really important that my children know that they can still say "no". It's important for children to know what dangers are out there. It's also important to know that they can still enjoy good touching such as hugs, because our family gives a lot of them. I thank the author of this book for making a way for parents to help their children understand the difference between good touch and bad touch.

    Strongly Recommend

My daughter was molested last year, at the age of 5, by my cousin who is fourteen years old. We read this book during a counseling session, and my daughter loves it. She always requests for the book to be read and she is not afraid to talk about things like she was before.

Excellent Guidance for Parents & Children

I bought this book for my 4 year old and it inspired her to discuss a very sensitive and emotional subject for her. By having her older stepsister read it aloud, it provided confidence that she was not alone (as a child) dealing with these issues. It also gave guidance for her with regards to her self-esteem and suggestions on how to handle awkward situations that made her uncomfortable. I highly recommend this book for both parents and children, especially if you suspect they have been or may be the victim of sexual abuse/assault. Personally, I think all children should read it.
