The best of love and war.

My Brother's Battle is a well-written, lyrical novel that covers the big issues of the Civil War. The characters are realistic and engaging, and we understand their struggles. This is a well-researched novel that carries the reader into the era of the Civil War. There is something for everyone, a love story, humor, the action of the battle scenes. A great read for fans of the Civil War or anyone who loves a great story!

    Wonderful historical novel...

...an interesting telling of the civil war and a history refresher. I'd recommend this to anyone with an interest in history and will look for others by this author.

A well-written glimpse into a major chapter in the history of our nation.

This is an extremely well written story that tells the tale of the Civil War from a perspective that is often under-played. The ending was predictable (I am not referencing the outcome of the war); but, the story was written so well that it was a challenge to put it down.

    Bad

I had high hopes for this book, but was very disappointed. It was very biased and discriminatory against the south and southerners. The author clearly did not understand the souths reasoning, states rights to secede, not to keep slaves. The author made it sound like every southerner was slave owners who regularly raped and tortured slaves. This was totally not true. She needs to check her history before she writes another inflammatory book such as this. Only gave it one star because i had to, actually deserves minus stars.

    Highly recommend

This novel is a wonderful story of a young southern man as he sets out during the Civil War to discover his own identity. It is a very knowledgable story. The book is filled with a rollercoaster of high emotion. I love books written during this period of time and this one will keep your mind wrapped up in the story as you read it. I will definitly check out more from this author.
