About the Author

Katrina W. Gidstedt is a proud mother of five, and was an enthusiastic teacher and administrator for twenty-seven years. She started writing children's books thirty years ago while working on her teaching degree. Over the years, she has been happily influenced by many amazing writers. Katrina is so excited to finally bring one of her own stories to fruition.


This is Emelie's first collaboration with her "bonus mom," and her first children's book. She hopes that this experience will help support literacy for children and her career as an aspiring teacher. Emelie is very passionate about diversity and hopes this book will support the children who dance to their own beat.
