I'm Giving "MY CHILD WON'T LISTEN." To my Daughter so She Will be a Better Parent

This book is an eye-opener! It shows us how not to parent while at the same time, leads us gently into possibilities for successful parenting. With humor and practicality, perception and obvious experience, author Linda Griffin is direct and loving as she offers us "dos" and "don'ts" in dealing with problem situations with the young.

Theory is hidden within dialogue and real-life scenes as Ms. Griffin takes us into that familiar world of the misbehaving or troubled child. She turns crises into opportunities to teach. Who wouldn't want to learn such skills? And her suggestions are consistently clear and simple.

Anyone who reads this book will see themselves and their children (or children they know) leap off the page in episode after episode. Her approach seem not just reasonable, but desirable. How lucky those parents were to have had her available to call on over the last decades. Now we have that opportunity, as well.

Always able to see both sides of a situation, Griffin doesn't hesitate to speak decisively when it comes to the best way to deal with her subject-whether a jealous older sibling or a grieving only child. Discover her thoughtful, no-nonsense approach and make it your own. Anyone who has ever talked to a child will feel the care and compassionate guidance this writer/teacher has brought to her youngsters. You'll want to read and re-read it.

    Lots of Useful Wisdom

This book has practical suggestions that parents of young children will find both helpful and validating. Clearly based on real experiences, the stories relate to common parenting situations. I liked the focus on understanding the root cause of a problem. Easy to read, even entertaining in some parts. I highly recommend this for parents or for anyone who volunteers with chidren.
