About the Author

Kristin K. Walker is a wife and mother of four beautiful children; Najja, Tishanna, Aisha and Justin. She is a Sickle Cell Disease advocate and teacher. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's degree in Reading. She has worked in the public school system as a teacher for 20 years. Her passion for teaching led her to tutoring in an after-school setting, from home. This eventually led to opening a pre-school in Brooklyn, N.Y. which is still in operation today. Kristin hopes that My Daughter's Journey will be an inspiration and encouragement for many; this life changing story of her daughter's battle with Sickle Cell Disease is one that is sure to touch your heart and soul.
