Haunted by a memory that ended in violent death, April has one chance to save herself and the man she loves.
Ms Matthews gives us two love stories, one through flashbacks from the 1920s and the other in the present. She does this successfully and keeps the reader guessing as to the outcomes of both and how they impact April's decisions.
... This is an original, memorable read.

Phoebe Matthews' My Deja Vu Lover grabbed me right from the start and kept me turning the pages until I reached the end of this intriguing tale of love, friendship and psychological suspense. April's nightmare begins when she enters into a fugue state in which she sees a nasty car accident. The crash appears to be fatal for herself and her best friends, and worst of all, she causes it. But April doesn't drive -- she's always been afraid to learn. And there's one person involved in the accident whom she doesn't recognize. Until she meets him...and falls for him hard. When she continues to have visions of living decades in the past, during Hollywood's silent film period, April begins to wonder if she and her friends are reliving a tragic set of circumstances. Or is she simply going nuts? What if what happened before happens again? Smart, witty dialogue combines with memorable characters to create a delightful blend of romance, suspense, and self-discovery. I also loved the historical detail about the early days of Hollywood. Highly recommended!
Right along with April who doesn't know why her world is turning upside down. She has visions of Hollywood in the time before talkies and is overwhelmed by memories of a passionate love affair. And then she meets her lover's double in present day Seattle and all the problems repeat, moving her toward disaster. This is a great romance and a warm love story, with suspense right up to the last page.
