I haven't heard the recorded version of "My Destiny" yet, but the recorded version of "Think" is outstanding!! I highly recommend anything Katharine records!! GO KAT!

While Kat has a great voice, her attitude that comes off screen and that has been seen through her interviews, make her seem snobbish and arrogant. This song just does not embody who she is and while some people may just focus on the talent, personality and character flows through the song and it just doesnt fit Kat. Somewhere over the rainbow suited her really well and good on her for that. She is very much a broadway/classic singer and she will do well in that area.

I hate her music, shes so rude.

the more you play it the more you what to play it

Both of the songs sound really good in studio, espescially the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I'm not sure why it says Think is on the single, because that song is on the "Season 5 Encores" album, not this one. Somewhere Over the Rainbow is supposed to be on it, not the song Think!!! ???

Disappointing. She "sometimes" sings good in parts of these (but not great) however I don't think that's good enough to make me buy. These songs are kinda boring. I do like when she does the older bluesy stuff better..THAT she's pretty good at, but there's something about her voice when she sings ballads that makes a sound I don't like..on certain notes its sound off or grating. But when she does the bluesy style, I like it. Her idol performance of "Since I Fell For You" for example was pretty good...but Not here.

Wow! What a voice...can't wait to buy more of her music.

I've been waiting for this since the finale, and despite what the site says, it's "My Destiny" and "Over the Rainbow" (not "Think") which is a great change. Kat is extremely talented and I can't wait to see what's up next for her. Go Kat Go!

she did well on american idol, but her recordings are awesome! the different ranges in these two songs show how talented she really is.

I have the MP3, now I will have the CD. Katharine sings Somewhere Over The Rainbow like an angel. My Destiny is bound to be a huge Pop hit. Enjoy.

My Destiny is a nice song. Kat didn't do well with this song in the AI5 Finale because she was suffering a sorethroat. The studio version of My Destiny sounds much much much better. I love the lyrics cuz it reflects the true feeling of Kat about her Idol journey. And Somewhere Over The Rainbow was just beyond amazing. Quoted by Simon Cowell, it was the best single performance in the whole AI competition to date. The studio version sounds just as good as, if not better than her live version. Kat's version of SOTR has brought a lot of people to tears. Her voice is just pure, clean, beautiful and soulful. Overall this is a 5-star CD single that definitely worth your money. Katharine isn't only a great singer, but also a kind person with great personality. She has so much potential in singing and now I just can't wait for her debut album.

Hurt my ears. Don't waste your money. I wanted to like the studio version but just did not. It was very hard to listen to.

Kat McPhee has a sensational voice! on her first single are both the AI song My Destiny, sounding really good in its studio version, and an AMAZING newly recorded Somewhere Over The Rainbow, the song that became her signature song on the show and is vocally outstanding. A single worth buying, you won't regret it!

I've been waiting for this to come out. What an amazing voice she has and what perfect songs for her CD! I'm so happy they included Over the Rainbow on it. Each time she does it I get chills. My Destiny is a beautiful song which suits her style perfectly. Either one of them can be a #1 hit.

Katharine McPhee's new single is absolutley flawless. She brings new life to the classic "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", truly making it her own which is so rare for a new artist. Even "My Destiny" shines. Katharine's vocals are stunning, and her emotional interpretation of both songs really reflect her journey on American Idol. This recording is a very honest thank you to her fans, but I believe even those who have yet to discover McPhee will be moved to learn more after witnessing these renditions. I can't wait for her full album!

She is awful, her voice is bad, music overproduced. Smultzy, boring, undistinguishable.

While it's gratifying to see positive reviews here for Katharine's amazing debut singles, it hasn't been that way at other online stores. Many of those are out to just discredit her. But I think most smart shoppers want to deal in reality and seek out the truth of what makes these outstanding performances worth buying. And those truths are: First, are these two singles "My Destiny" and "(Somewhere) Over the Rainbow" really made for pop radio? Yes, they are. If you listen very carefully, you'll see that both songs were re-arranged so they fit in just fine with modern-day radio...whether that be Top 40 for "MD"--or Adult Contemporary for "OTR." Don't let anybody tell you that these songs can't resonate with a modern audience. "Over the Rainbow" may be a song written in 1939, but Katharine takes the song to another place. Also, the lyrics of "My Destiny" now have a powerful meaning if you bother to know a little about Katharine's life. And that brings me to... Second, does Katharine make these songs all her own as well as making them sound like she's singing them just for you? Absolutely! Perhaps those who followed her journey a little closer on "American Idol" would understand better, but there's a lot of strong emotion in these songs that will really take you on a satisfying ride of longing, pain, hope and redemption. Katharine managed to turn "OTR" into something fresh from a different perspective...both on "AI" and on this recording. With recent reports that Katharine's had a lot more pain and struggle in her life than people ever knew, the lyrics to "MD" are put in a different context that becomes hauntingly poignant, yet life-affirming. And for those who voted for Katharine every week on "AI", Kat is singing right to you in these songs. She has that power to draw you in as if she's singing her thoughts to you in your own living room. Just watch her past performances on "AI" and her use of the camera to witness that. It also translates just as well with only her voice and personality on this CD. Third, does Kat's voice compete with all the other great voices in the music marketplace? Beyond words, yes. Now, understand that perhaps pop divas like Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey may have slightly better technical ability. Even that's arguable when Katharine is in perfect vocal health and not suffering from nerves and illness as she did toward the end of "AI." But there's something magical in a voice called vocal timbre that can get into your mind and heart and make you feel euphoric when you hear one that's special. Kat's voice stands out and haunts you when you hear it on certain phrases of just about any song she sings. Her vocal purity is very rare and can only be compared to the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Karen Carpenter and perhaps--currently--Jane Monheit (who Kat recently cited as a vocal influence). Fourth, does Kat's pure voice maybe supercede the material on this CD single? Well, yes and no. Many Kat fans initially thought "My Destiny" wasn't the greatest song in the world for her to sing as her debut single. "Over the Rainbow" has been covered more times than some can count. But while the arrangements of these songs still work--they only provide the backdrop to Kat's ease of original styling and my aforementioned vocal purity. When you add these four truths together, and give them all a chance to settle in your mind, this debut single by Katharine McPhee will make you feel powerful emotions you don't always get in pop music. While I believe Katharine is too good for the pop category itself, be glad she's there at the moment, because it's the most enriching pop music you'll probably hear in a long time. These singles deserve a deep and respectable analysis, because there's unfortunately some on the net out there who waste their lives ta

She has a nice voice but it's one dimentional. If she doesn't have the true artist to imitate she sounds like she's lost. I don't like it!! I'd rather stick with Taylor Hicks!!! Still the best season yet.

This is the best version of "Somewhere over the rainbow". It has a modern feel, yet showcases the powerful voice of Katharine Mcphee. Buy this CD!

This has to be the best singing she has ever done. Even though its only two songs, I play the songs over and over, just to hear her voice. Its very clear and meaningful. This is a GREAT album for anyone who enjoys music and of course, KATHERINE MCPHEE.

I think Katharine's single is great. When I watched the show I liked "Do I Make You Proud" by Taylor Hicks better, but Taylor's single is a little weak on CD. It was a good idea though to put Somewhere Over the Rainbow on Katharine's CD, because she did great. My Destiny is good, she is a great singer.

Just a beautiful god given voice. "My Destiny" truly moves me. Her recording version is much better than what was played on the finale. Rainbow is flawless. She is pure talent. Congratulations Kat!
