Talk about a compromising situation!
A storm of political intrigue, murderous mayhem and sexual hungers is brewing on planet Regelence.
Swarthy Intergalactic Navy Captain Nathaniel Hawkins ran from a past he had no intention of ever reliving. But when his Admiral asks him to use his peerage, as an earl and the heir to a dukedom, to investigate a missing weapons stash, he’s forced to do just that. As if being undercover on a Regency planet where the young men are supposed to remain pure until marriage isn’t bad enough, Nate finds himself attracted to the king’s unmarried son.
All Prince Aiden Townsend has ever wanted was to be an artist. He has no interest in a marriage of political fortune or becoming a societal paragon. Until he lands in the arms of the mysterious Earl of Deverell. One look at Nate’s handsome face has Aiden reconsidering his future. Not only does Nate make a virile subject for Aiden’s art, but the great war hero awakens feelings in Aiden he has never felt, feelings he can’t ignore.
After a momentous dance at a season ball, Aiden and Nate find themselves exchanging important information and working closely together. They have to fight their growing attraction long enough to find out who stole the weapons and keep themselves from a compromising situation and certain scandal.
I never read books more than once, but J.L. Langley is awesome. I could not put it down. I had to find out what happened to Nate and Adrian. A touching love story, with super hotsex scences. And men in uniforams. I'm hooked.

Mixing both, this one sounded like a winner! However, I found it to be a bit silly. The plot and the sex were interesting enough to keep me reading till the end, but there were too many unrealistic elements to the society on Regelence for me to take it serious as a whole. I would place this story very firmly within the "wish-fulfillment" category.
The characters were generally likeable. The personality of the captain's scrappy sidekick was a bit over the top (almost cartoony at times). I also felt that the ending left me hanging. The author seemed to be setting up another plot arc that would have added several more chapters and tied up some loose ends, but the story abruptly stops. It was as though once the main characters were finally together, the rest of the story wasn't important anymore.
Overall it was a not unpleasant afternoon spent reading this book, though I would recommend it as a borrow, not a buy.

If you enjoy sci-fi, historical m/m romance then this would be the book for you. I've re-read it atleast 3 times since reading it the first time. And the second book is even better!

Read this book and just enjoy yourself. Read them all and just sit back and smile and laugh.

I wish the story would have gone on a little longer, seems to have ended to soon.

Great but not spectacular. But that could be because it took me a while to figure out what was going on.

Langley's other work but this just didn't do it for me. I felt that it didn't really end happy and only left you more questions. Even in a series, a book should be able to stand alone but this doesn't. You know you'll have to read another and it takes away from this couple's story.

The book as a whole was pretty good; however, I would recommend it as a "barrow from a friend" instead of a "permanent addition to your personal library" (but don't tell your friend so they'll buy it!) Also the princes in this book were all a tad confusing because they are so many. The captain's right hand man/son is comical but at times a little. over done. Also the customs or society and ways of reproduction and technology, to me, do not mix well. But overall a good afternoon read.
