Talk about a compromising situation!

A storm of political intrigue, murderous mayhem and sexual hungers is brewing on planet Regelence.

Swarthy Intergalactic Navy Captain Nathaniel Hawkins ran from a past he had no intention of ever reliving. But when his Admiral asks him to use his peerage, as an earl and the heir to a dukedom, to investigate a missing weapons stash, he’s forced to do just that. As if being undercover on a Regency planet where the young men are supposed to remain pure until marriage isn’t bad enough, Nate finds himself attracted to the king’s unmarried son.

All Prince Aiden Townsend has ever wanted was to be an artist. He has no interest in a marriage of political fortune or becoming a societal paragon. Until he lands in the arms of the mysterious Earl of Deverell. One look at Nate’s handsome face has Aiden reconsidering his future. Not only does Nate make a virile subject for Aiden’s art, but the great war hero awakens feelings in Aiden he has never felt, feelings he can’t ignore.

After a momentous dance at a season ball, Aiden and Nate find themselves exchanging important information and working closely together. They have to fight their growing attraction long enough to find out who stole the weapons and keep themselves from a compromising situation and certain scandal.

Meet the Author

J.L. Langley was born and raised in Texas. Which is a good thing considering that Texas is full of cowboys and there is nothing better than a man in a pair of tight Wranglers and a cowboy hat. She is fortunate to live with four of the most gorgeous males to walk the earth…ok, so one of those males is canine, but he is quite beautiful for a German Shepherd. When not writing, she can usually be found with a book in hand and chocolate in the other.

I never read books more than once, but J.L. Langley is awesome. I could not put it down. I had to find out what happened to Nate and Adrian. A touching love story, with super hotsex scences. And men in uniforams. I'm hooked.

"My Fair Captain" was my first gay romance novel. A fan of many genres, I did an unsuspecting (albeit whimsical) Google search for 'gay military science fiction' and was introduced the world of MM Romance. As is with most readers, the novel that introduces you to the genre is special. I'm glad this was mine. "My Fair Captain" is a non-genre novel that could be described as gay fiction meets Horatio Hornblower in space meets Jane Austen. The author sets her story in a "Regency" world whose culture intentionally retains a simpler way of life in the past, yet are still connected to other worlds through technology. The result are images of 18th century loading docks, where huge space freighters float over masted sailing ships, and where military officers run through spaceship corridors with swords and scabbards. The reader finds themselves in an intoxicating "gay-utopia," where the noble-ruling class are genetically engineered to be homosexual. Whereas, other worlds in a planetary alliance are sadly similar to our own. This is where Langley finds the story's tension: a romance between a dashing captain and a come-of-age member of the Regency's nobility. As I was new to the genre, I was expecting more gay fiction than gay erotica. (After many reads, I like both approaches to MM Romance.) As I began reading the first sex scene, my heart began beating faster, and I had to laugh at myself, thinking "This is what it must be like for a chick reading "Love's Savage Secret!" ;) The point is that this book is certainly a hot read. After many MM novels, Langley's sex scenes are some of the most memorable. NOTE: Don't let not liking one of the genres prevent you from reading this book. Langley's world is so expansively creative that you only need to be a fan of one of the genres, or even none, to enjoy this exceptional read, so richly written are her characters.

I absolutely love J.L.s style! Its difficult for me to find good M/M romance that is more than just sex based (you get just the right amount alongside the action side of the story). Remember though, this is a series not a single title, the story is far from over!

Never having read an m/m before I absolutely loved this book. If you enjoy sci-fi, historical m/m romance then this would be the book for you. I've re-read it atleast 3 times since reading it the first time. And the second book is even better!

Great but not spectacular. But that could be because it took me a while to figure out what was going on.
