Meet the Author

My early work (eight-years-old) would be called fan fiction today. I began by writing my version of Bobbsey Twins novels on legal pads that my dad brought home from the office. As an only child – in the days before children became little electronic receivers – there was often not much to do other than seek amusement in my own head.Childhood fantasies involved being the only girl (for some odd reason) at a ranch for wayward boys. Yes. I do realize this sounds vaguely familiar. Those fantasies were supported by real life events because the boys included me in the afternoon neighborhood games whether it was cowboy/Indians or G.I. Joe.When I left the Bobbsey Twins behind I didn’t write again until I was married with children and in my mid-twenties. I completed a paranormal romance and gave it to my spouse to read. After hearing his criticisms I didn’t write again for decades. At the time I didn’t understand that he’s the absolute farthest thing from my audience. It turned out to be a blessing because during that time that I didn’t write, I lived an extremely full life. I traveled a lot, raised a family, got an education (I have an M.A. in Psychology.) and explored my compulsion to be a spiritual seeker. The fantasies were a constant companion throughout. The faces and names of the characters changed as I matured, but they remained a source of comfort. They helped me through hell-raising teenagers and three near-death scares.By the time I started writing again, I had something to say.I write cross-genre with uniquely fresh perspectives on paranormal creatures, characters, and themes. Add a dash of scifi and a flourish of fantasy to enough humor to make you laugh out loud and enough steam to make you squirm in your chair. My heroines are independent femmes with flaws and minds of their own whether they are aliens, witches, demonologists, psychics, or past life therapists. My heroes are hot and hunky, but they also have brains, character, and good manners – usually – whether they be elves, demons, berserkers, werewolves, or vampires. My first book, My Familiar Stranger, was nominated for Best Paranormal Romance of by both Reviewers’ Choice and Readers’ Choice Awards. All of my books have opened on the Amazon Best Sellers list and earned Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK awards. For 2013 I won REVIEWERS' CHOICE awards for Best Paranormal Romance Series, Best Paranormal Romance Novel (General) - A Summoner's Tale, and Best Paranormal Romance Novel (Vampires & Shifters) - Moonlight.I live in The Woodlands, Texas which is why I sometimes joke about being the witch in the woods. Married. Four children. One very smart, mostly black German Shepherd dog.

I admit to author bias. I wrote it and I like it a lot. So much to that I have read it several times SINCE it was published. This is the first book of a series that is also a serial. In other words, while My Familiar Stranger can be read as a stand alone novel, every subsequent volume will build on characters and situations presented here. Whenever you encounter a twist or turn in the reading, know that the same thing took place with the writing. I began the writing with one book in mind and ended up with something else because the headstrong characters took on life, voice, and demands of their own. Hope you enjoy it.

    Read this book! NOW!!

This is a must read! The writing and editing are very well done, thank goodness! The character build up is great. It is a long book at about 700 pages but I didn't want to put it down! My Familiar Stranger is officially on my "tell everybody" list! I cannot wait to read more about these characters!! Keep up the great work Victoria!! Thank you!

The author did an outstanding job with her tale! The book engaged me from the first page and didn't let me go until the last page. The storyline was a very good one and subsequently I wanted to see the main character suceed with her wishes. I got that and more. The love interest was icing on the proverbial cake. It was a very special love story wrapped into an ever bigger story. The ending gave me even more in satisfaction. I would highly recommend this book to everyone who's searching for the special story to read.

Imagine sitting in a meeting of vampire/supernatural hunters, at a facility very few people have any idea exists, debriefing because of the loss of a team member. Now imagine having a bloody mess land at your feet out of thin air, so badly damaged you can't tell what it is, even when it opens its eyes and holds its hand out to you seeking help.
    .
This book has a woman from a parallel dimension land in the midst of the famous vampire hunters, The Order of the Black Swans, Company B, or Bad Company, as they have come to be called due to their reputation for getting the job done. Her trip through the dimensions left her barely alive, looking like she took a trip through a meat grinder. She faced certain death had she not been sent through, as the castle she grew up in was being attacked. Her tutor and protector pushed her through only moments before being overrun.

While this story does have romance and some steamy scenes, they are not overly graphic nor do they fill the whole story line. The book is still are best suited for those over the age of 18+. This book is more romance than erotica, and a little more adventure than romance. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series!

    Good Read

This book was fresh, and offered something new. It gave a different concept on paranormal books. I liked it a lot, and it kept me enthralled. It was lengthy, but thats greatfor a free book. I do wish there could have been more action. I will read the other books from this author.

Got this as a free book and could not be more pleased. Definately one of my new favorite authors and I look forward to reading more. An imaginative twist to both science fiction and fantasy combined.

    Fun vamp!

This clever story spins around the experiences of Elora, the human whose sudden interdimensional travel results in overcoming physical and emotional trauma to build her new life in a parallel dimension which has some major differences from her previously known world, including a sexy elf and his team of vampire hunters. Fun characters, including a strong female lead, and so many scenes that made me smile or even laugh out loud. Totally fun romp with a fresh take on Vampire lore.

A new world has been created, hurray!

This is the first book in a great new series so it took a little time to introduce everyone and set things in motion. But the writing is tight and the characters are all unique. I fell a little bit in love with each one. But again, beautiful beefy boys with hearts of gold (and who knew elves could be so cheeky).... decisions decisions decisions. Cant wait to read the next installment.

    Less is OK

For a romance style book this one is short on the sex, at least compared to most these days, but you find yourself not minding because you get caught up in the story and want to know the characters. Girl in a guys job, guys wanting girl and vampires killing innocents. I liked it

    Surprising Paranormal

I was very pleasantly surprised by the plot twists in this full-length novel. I would think this was going one way with a gothic/magic feeling to it, then it morphed into a secret service of warriors in an urban fantasy sort of way. It skirted the edges of being a love story at times and I will HAVE to get the next book to find out how that plot string goes. I liked it so much that I suggested it to a very picky friend of mine and she has reported that she loves it. I recommend this book to readers of paranormal.

I don¿t know what to say about this book. I liked the storyline

I don’t know what to say about this book. I liked the storyline but not the execution. It took me a long time to get use to the author’s style of writing. A lot longer than it usually does for me. There were way too many points of view. It wasn’t until around the 50% mark did I finally get used to it. In the beginning it was very hard to figure out who was talking and whose thoughts I was privy too. The first 70% was extremely hard to read. I thought it was boring and I found myself wishing for so much more. But I continued reading because several people asked me to with the promise that it gets better. They were right. All of a sudden everything seemed to click. The story became more interesting and I found myself actually starting to like some of the characters. Hopefully the next book is better. A little more action and a lot less drawn out descriptions of everything would make reading this series much more enjoyable. More romance would also be nice.

Ok so this book was written well. I'm not going to lie. The author clearly has talent. However this book just did not do it for me. I found myself bored and confused at times. It just wasn't very entertaining. Though, the writer did do a good job telling the story. It just wasn't my type of story though.
