Jimmy Nap's career took him from street-level crime to an assassination attempt on Elliot Ness; from a relationship with Cuban strongman Fulgencio Batista to becoming a Mob Kingpin who ruled over the largest gambling empire in America for almost 40 years. Jimmy Nap's sphere of influence extended to many businesses and industries, including professional boxing, casinos, and entertainment.

    I highly recommend this book!

I very much enjoyed every minute of this book. Could not put it down. It was like Tony was just sitting here telling his story directly to me! Was so real, so honest. I agree, the message of his story is more important than the details. To go through what Tony did, it took alot of courage and Love for his family, to turn it all around."With much respect to Tony" Sheryl

    Gritty but Honest

Tony Napoli has written a very readable, brutally honest, often gritty story of his life. At various points in his life, "Tony Nap" was a boxer and cassino owner. His involvement in organized crime was influenced by his father, James, "Jimmy Nap," mob kingpin and Genovese Family capo, and as a result, Tony also added to his list of jobs that of hustler and enforcer. Despite his father's career in crime, Tony and his father shared a deep love and respect for each other. The ups and downs of their relationship are reoccurring themes throughout a large part of the book. Another theme is that of Tony's redemption in the face of the many odds against him. At the end of the book, you may not like Tony because of his past, but you will have respect for him by understanding how easily he could have given up and given his life over to the dark side.

A very enjoyable read. Read this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down.

My father My Don: Mr Napoli has written a fine narrative that rings true to the time, the neighborhood and the bound between father and son. A bound that is tested again and again and survives with love and respect. The voice of the son is so real that the reader is drawn into the almost godlike hero worship of the father and is able to see the Mob activities as the way business was done. The book was thought provoking and left this reader asking the question, What if? What if Tony had defied his father and stayed in the service, if he had succeeded as a fighter, would his story have been different? Would the degenerate drinking not have taken hold of the successful Tony Napoli or was the shadow of this father just to large for any son to measure up? <BR/>I applaud the author for winning in the biggest battle he faced and turning his life into a life of giving back to others. Read this book if you have any interest in the NY mob, fathers and sons, or just want an afternoon read that transports you.

    My Father, My Don

This story MUST make the big screen. The message of this story is much more important than the actual details. This story is everything from scary to inspirational.

The Book is a testament to both Father and Son, and the difficulties that emanate from such relationships. The author should enjoy every minute of this great accomplishment. I write this review with great anticipation.
