Her mother's dying words to Corrie: "A woman's got to be strong. She's got to be able to make her way alone if she has to." When the little troop arrives in Miracle Springs and discovers that Uncle Nick has skipped town and the sheriff is after him, the "land of promise" turns into one of fear and unknown danger. Shouts of "gold" and "new strike" fade away as Corrie stands in the middle of a strange town with everyone turning them away.
Could they make it on their own? She'd have to try!
From the writing team that has sold over 800,000 books comes an unforgettable frontier series captured through the pen of a teenage girl. The journals of Corrie Belle are written in a charming, easily read style.

YYYEEESSSS!!! I read half of this series when I was fifteen/sixteen (which was fun since I was the same age as the protagonist) and I also loved to write, so needless to say I LOVED it! The last book I read ended on a MAJOR cliff hanger and I could never find the rest of the series because it was printed so long ago. I even contacted the author about it, but since the books were out of print any copy I got was going to be WAY too expensive.
I cannot express how excited I am to learn that this series is out again! If you haven’t read it before, do it now! You will love the characters and learn a lot about the time period as well. In later books I really did get a better grasp on the Civil War by seeing it through the eyes of Corrie.
But be warned, you’ll be hooked!!
