It goes beyond board books and flashcards: tap on any word and it plays the voiceover. Tap on a letter and it plays the letter.
This allows children to associate images, shapes and sounds, as well as practice fine motor skills while building their early vocabulary.
Flick LEFT to RIGHT to navigate from one letter to the next. Flick UP and DOWN to see a new illustration for the same letter. This reinforces the learning experience and the associations between letters and sounds.
NOTE: If you can't hear the words, please 1. Tap on any picture 2. quickly press the volume up key on the side of your Nook 3. You should see a "MEDIA VOLUME" indicator bar. If you see a "notification volume" bar then try again.
If you have problems and/or suggestions please write to nookabc@tipitap.com

The baby loves this. He is trying to get the hang of flicking through the letters. My older kids love to use it to "teach the baby" It's fun.

My son loves this. The app reads the words, then I repeat and have him also. Silly me, I just discovered that if you scroll down, it gives you more objects for each letter!

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. This app is perfect for preschoolers and toddlers as well as special needs students who use assistive technology. I have a few struggling readers in my classroom that will benefit from the picture and sound associations made with the entire alphabet. Highly reccomended!

She loves most of the apps but she could not even get to the letter "f" before she pushed it away. It show a picture, the letter and then the name. It is truly a waste of space and money. In less then ten minutes it was deleted.

Each letter has more than one picture. It also says the letter and the object so your child can hear the letter and the sound in words. Very Easy to use. My toddler and my preschooler can both use and and LOVE IT!

Says my volume is too low or on mute even though I have
the mute off and volume turned up all the way. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Perfect, simple entertainment for my 19month old. Nice clear images & audio. There are several different word examples for every letter so its lengthy & not boring. Easy to move through. Much more to offer than the boardbook version!

Kind of boring to my 4yr old. Would be better if it had more options and was more interactive.

This app is ok. It has nice pictures. 'Yak' is spelled 'yack'. Might want to fix that. How would people get a corrected version?

Under NOOK Color Settings, then Sounds, make sure to turn up your media volume to a higher level. That should fix your sound problems.

If you don't have good sound, go to your settings. Click sounds or volume. Turn up your media setting. I did this and the app works wonderfully now.

Love this app but the sound does not work properly. Really wish the sound was better.

However, I wish the sound could be louder on it. I have the nook volume all the way up, but we both still have to strain to hear. Otherwise, a good app for letter recognition.
