Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
As I sat in my doctor's office waiting for my lecture on weight and my BMI, I was delighted to be reading this book. It is never too soon to start introducing exercise, and in this clever book with large foldout pages, the author and illustrator have made exercising look like fun. The instructions for many of the moves are clear enough that they could be followed at home. The book features five cute girls in matching purple leotards. They learn a pike, tuck, triangle, toe touching, straddle, leap, hops, balance and more. The book will probably have plenty of young girls asking to join a gymnastics class. That is good. Do I have any quibbles? Just one—there are no boys. The book would be an excellent gift and it joins others that feature ballet, soccer and karate. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
