    Hopeful...but let down.

I am usually drawn to Highland romances as a change of pace to some denser reads. I look for fun banter, strong characters and an actual plot which unfolds. I found this book lacking on all fronts. The book felt like it was choppy in scene changes and dialogue. The descriptions were shallow and I felt disinterested throughout. I would not recommend. I wish I could get my money back.

My Highland Love, the Highland Lords Series, is a historical romance that sweeps you back to a romantic and fierce time that the Highland Lords ruled Scotland. Elise Kingston is a woman with a past, but she has found sanctuary with the Clan MacGregor after being swept overboard from her ship. She has a terrible secret to conceal for she has vowed vengeance on the man who killed her daughter and brother. How can she tell Marcus MacGregor that she killed her first husband as the passion ignites between the both of them. The Highland Lord is the Laird’s son and means to win over Elise, but he knows there are secrets between them that must be shared. Time is against them as Elise has another enemy that is out to destroy her and to claim her vast inheritance. Together, Elise and Marcus must fight to conquer their love.

Author Tarah Scott has the talent to draw you into the past into a different world and a different time. For anyone that loves historical romances, she has mastered the art of enchanting readers with the allure and brutality of the Highlands and of Scotland. She has captured the spirit of that time and draws us in with her strong characters that have intense chemistry and attraction – all centered around a fascinating and fast paced story line and plot. This was a very enjoyable read that captured my complete attention. I would love to read all her books about her Highland Lords and love interests as she creates characters that you learn to care about and want to follow.

I love Ms. Scott's style of writing, she is a very descriptive writer and I could very well see the details surrounding the story set in the Highlands. She is a "new-to-me" author and I am so glad to have read her Scottish romance. She is a high quality writer that kept my interest throughout the book! I highly recommend MY HIGHLAND LOVE.

One of my favorite Highlander books

If you love historical romance this book is for you! It is long so get comfy because once you start you will not want to stop and it goes pretty quick once you get into it. The first thing I loved about My Highland Love is that the main characters are older, Elise had a daughter and Marcus our sexy Highland warrior is a Highland Laird, he is also the son of a Duke, making him a Lord. You never know what is going to happen next with Elise, She’s one smart, stubborn and feisty woman who refuses to give up no matter what especially when it comes to the man who killed her daughter. Elise will stop at nothing to make sure he pays for what he did.

Elise and Marcus will have you going through a range of emotions one being needing a cold shower! The chemistry between these two characters will leave you breathless! This is one book I will defiantly read over and over!
