Overview

A celibate husband and wife are the two most dangerous people on earth . . .

Neil and Anya Meadows are stuck in a sexless marriage. Anya suffers from a hormonal disorder that leaves her with no sex drive at all, while Neil has a voracious sexual appetite. After one unfulfilling encounter too many, they make a deal: Neil will be allowed to have a mistress, but only for oral sex and only twice a month. And he’s forbidden to fall in love with her.

Things don’t exactly work out as planned. Neil and his mistress Danielle have a child together, and all of them—Anya, Neil, Danielle, the new baby, and Neil and Anya’s daughter—decide to live together as Houston’s most complicated blended family. The tension builds as each is forced to make difficult choices, as well as to come to terms with the past—and the future.

Fast-paced, provocative, and sexy, My Husband’s Girlfriend explores issues of morality, emotional ties, family, love, and monogamy, and is an eye-opening novel about the complexity of modern love.

    Slow and Boring

I'll admit I only made it through the first 50 pages before I surrendered, I just couldn't take it anymore.
Don't waste your time. If you're looking for 'by the pool, saucy summer read' this isn't it.

    MUY EXCELENTE!

I LOVED this book! I can actually relate to this book. The book is juicy, drama-filled, annoying, suspenseful, heart-wrenching, and well-written all in one! The husband's character was driving me crazy going back and forth between the 2 women, but in the end, he made a good choice. The book is definitely a must read and I'll be reading it again! I recommend it to anyone!

    boring!

this book is NOT a keeper. The characters were under-developed, the plot was predictable, and the book dragged. Happy I purchased this book from the clearance section. better luck next time....

Ok read, but it will infuriate you, or at least I was

I think Anya was so stupid for sticking out this marriage. This husband was as selfish as they came. I couldn't believe he so calmly told her that she should accept what he does and get past it, every single time he messes up.
Anya was also stupid for giving him permission to have oral sex with another chick in the first place. Not that he wouldn't have done it otherwise, but she just gave him a reason to blame her for all of it, including the baby.

If I were Anya those divorce papers would've been signed way before he kept sleeping with his trick.
If there were a part two I could easily see them getting divorced. How can she ever trust him again?

Overall this book was pretty good. Not too much of a rapid page turned, but it's alright.

    I Also Recommend:

Not as impressed as I hoped...

This book started off good and slowly dwindled to the end. I usually finish a book in 4 days tops, it took about 8 to finish it. I liked "My Best Friend and My Man" by Cydney Rax and was anxious to read her other work, now I'm a bit skeptical about "My Daughter's Boyfriend".

The scenario was realistic to a certain degree but not enough page turning drama.

    I liked this book.

I agree that this book was a slow read, however it has a good message about acepting yourself, and loving God. It also make you take accountability for your own mistakes.

    Kinda Disappointed

Well this book was not so good in the beginning but later on it became pretty good. I read My daughter's boyfriend and I must say that it was a great read but this book kinda disappointed me because I expected more. It never takes me longer than 3 or 4 days to read a book andthis book took me like 2 weeks because I kept putting it down and not picking it back up for a day or 2. Towards the end it was an okay book bunot what I was expecting. I would still recommend it to others because everyone has different opinions.

    A Poor Read

I belong to a Book Club and we just completed reading and discussing the book. It is a poorly formulated book, a disjointed plot and a poorly written text. I do not suggest the book and feel that a rating of very poor is more than sufficient.

Cydney Rax has done it again

My Husband¿s Girlfriend by Cydney Rax Reviewer: Kim Floyd MHG makes us all think back to the time when our mothers told us ¿don¿t ever say what you won¿t do¿. Anya has a hormonal problem and doesn¿t want to make love to her husband anymore. Neil is in a sexless marriage and although he loves his wife, he is becoming very frustrated. Anya made the mistake of trying to please her husband and keep him ¿by any means necessary¿ and she almost lost all that¿s dear to her in the process. Telling a man he can have a mistress if he follows your rules¿is just like telling him if he doesn¿t wear a condom he has to pull it out¿.and we all know he isn¿t going to do that either. Could you face your husband¿s mistress and tell her to stay away from your husband. That¿s right Anya stepped to Ms.Thang and that was just the beginning¿of the end. There is enough sex, romance, betrayal, envy and dishonesty to keep you turning those pages non-stop. Cydney then adds just enough prayer and a little knowledge on how to love a black man so the blessings may continue to flow¿.You can¿t wait to find out if what GOD has joined together¿stays together. Cydney weaves this story as intricately as the basket weavers at Charleston¿s slave market and as each basket is unique and one-of-a-kind, so is ¿My Husband¿s Girlfriend¿. When you finish reading about Anya, Neil and Dani¿you¿ll definitely know there is one thing you¿ll never, ever, ever do. Cydney has written an insightful novel and has again as in ¿My Daughter¿s Boyfriend¿ addressed unthinkable issues¿.preparing us to always expect the unexpected.
