"She's not good enough for you Marcus."

"Mom, I'm not a kid anymore, and I can't sit back and watch you sabotage. I can't. You are my mother and I love you very much, but don't destroy the only chance I have with Racquel. Please stop meddling, please."

After being hurt by love in the past, Marcus Collin resolves to never fall in love again. He decides to "play the field" and meet as many women as possible. But a chance encounter with his childhood friend Racquel Middleton threatens his decision to remain a bachelor.

Racquel is too busy pursuing a career in advertising to find the right man. Her relationships are always with the wrong person at the wrong time. But after renewing her friendship with Marcus, love blossoms and the two marry. Unfortunately, Marcus's mother isn't at all thrilled with the match. Her greatest wish is for Marcus to be devoted only to her.

Racquel struggles to keep the marriage together, but how can she measure against her "perfect" mother-in-law? Will Marcus ever understand the complex relationship between his wife and mother,
or is his foray into true love doomed?
