Alana Stewart and Farrah Fawcett went through it all together. Friends for thirty years, they were an essential part of each other's lives since first meeting at a dinner party in the 1970s. During that time, they supported each other through the trials of Hollywood life while also raising their families, keeping in close contact.
But in the fall of 2006, a test of their friendship arose unlike any other they'd faced: Farrah was diagnosed with aggressive rectal cancer. This book truly shows the meaning of the word friendship and love. Its sad but at the same time keeps you interested, there are some up lifting funny entries and also very sad touching moments, from day one Alana wrote what she saw and experience with her bestfriend. I do suggest people read this if they want to know what both the cancer patient and the loved ones around them deal with it. Its a true tribute to Farrah, Alana did well in giving us an inside look.

It was an amazing journey these to friends took. I watched Farrah's story late at night after the kids went to bed. I cryed, then I wanted to read the book. It also was SAD, yet I found that I couldn't put it down. I learned so much from this book. About the power of love, courage, determination, and lessons in life. Friendship between two women, it's a bond you can't compare to anything else. I recommend this book to everyone, it's a must read. Alana did a great job and I am sure Farrah would be proud. After reading it, it has given me alot to think about. I know it's changed my thinking about life and not to take things for granite. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

It was suppose to be a book about friendship women share and best friends... but in the cracks there were Alana's stories of her affairs and things I would have rather been left out of the book. It took away from the focus. To me, Farrah got put on the back burner because Michael Jackson died the same day.All the media was on him. So when writing a book about Farrah, keep Farrah as the focus and dont take away from her. She was a bright , beautiful & artistic person. A wonderful Mother, Daughter & Actress. I prefer to remember the Farrah with the shining smile. She was a angel.

The book is inspiring for those who are struggling with an illness or have problems with children or with drug abuse. It's not especially well written, but it is interesting.

I wasn't real sure how this book would affect me after loosing my Mother to cancer. It was a very touching story of what is called "true friendship". Farrah was so blessed to have such a true friend in Allana to be there for every step through her journey. Farrah was an amazing gorgeous woman who was so brave to go through the things she did with such dignity and never lost hope. God bless you Allana for being there for Farrah.

I knew I was going to be hit in the heart by reading this...Im so glad I chose to let it happen. Alana Stewert does a fine job of sharing her happiness and her very deep saddness too. The friendship these two ladies shared was awesome...we all should be so lucky. I venture to say that very few readers will not shed a tear. You know the ending....but dread seeing it in print.

Whether you are a cancer patient fighting for their life, or the friend, family member, or close one to a loved one fighting cancer this book is for you. My Journey with Farrah: A Story of Life, Love, and Friendship, is an outstanding book. In the book, Farrah Fawcett gets cancer, and her best friend Alana Stewart (who wrote the book) keeps a journal of her battles. Alana and Farrah go through everything together and do it all over again in this book; it shows what a true friendship is made up of. Throughout the book it shows how courageous Farrah had to be to go through the things she went through, and shows how much hope she had. But, I somehow found this book comforting and reassuring. Be prepared to go up and down with emotions, thoughts, and ideas. It keeps you wanting more. I found myself laughing many times in the book; it has many funny parts and will get you rolling in laughter and times where you feel you cannot possibly read anymore without crying. I did not want this book to come to an end, for we all know what happens (and those of you who do not, I will not spoil it!). If you do enjoy this book, there is a TV special Farrah made about her that coincides with this book called Farrah's Story.

Really enjoyed reading this book. With afraid it was going to be depressing and was not in the least. The writer did a great job taking you through her incredible journey with cancer. I would recommend to anybody who has ever had a really good friend (girl) it will make you relive those times.

This was a wonderfully, well written story of love, friendship and above all the strength of Farrah Fawcett during her cancer ride. She was lucky to have a friend such as Alana who was with her during her trials of many different treatments. This book only confirms what most of us already know that no matter how much money you can spend for varied treatments what is mean't to be will be for all of us. We annot change destiny.

I went through this book quickly for I could not put it down. There are so many powerful messages that come from this book it's difficult to focus on just one. Farrah's amazing battle, the inspiring friendship between Alana and Farrah, the realization that we need to appreciate the people we have in our lives while they are still with us... I could go on and on. The documentary "Farrah's Story" and this book go very well together. My favorite part of this story, though, was the message of friendship between two women that was able to stay so strong and endure for so long. Alana really got it with just what it means to have a best friend and how lucky that is. This book had a wonderful balance of bringing such awareness to this disease and what a painful process it is for everyone involved and how when tragedy strikes, the main thing we can do is pull together for one another. I was deeply touched by "Farrah's Story" and even more touched after reading Alana's accounts of their three-year journey together. Very inspiring.

I got thru this book quickly as it is so harrowing and heartbreaking. To realize that Farrah went thru such an ordeal is truly haunting. However the book is also very inspirational due to Farrah's and Alana Stewart's love and great fiendship. This book is a fine companion piece to the excellent documentary "Farrah's Story". Both pieces will serve to enhance Farrah's already enormous legacy. She hoped to encourage and inspire others and she has achieved this beyond measure. Those who have been moved by this amazing and heroic woman know that her sweet face and lovely, gentle voice will always be true reflections of the beautiful soul inside.

I just got done reading her book, and loved every minute of it. I could have easily read it from beginning to end, but I have 2 little guys that need me constantly;) Her book is so inspirational. Sad, of course as well, be prepared to cry a lot. But I too learned what truly is important, through Alana's writing. I 100 % agree with George Hamilton, she should keep writing. If I could say one word to describe her book it would be "Honesty." She is a very real person with sharing her feelings. I am very devoted to keeping a journal, so I totally related to some of her deepest thoughts, specially about worrying or obcessing. I encourage every woman out there to read this book because we don't know what our futures have in store for any of us, but we must put it all into perspective. I am now going to live my life in the present and enjoy the gift it truly is. What a beautiful friendship they had, Farrah and Alana, and the bond that they had will live on. God's peace and Love be with them both and their families.

"My Journey with Farrah: A Story of Life, Love, and Friendship" by Alana Stewart, a book that everyone should read...if the word cancer has ever touched your life or anyone's life it is a must read. The word Cancer changes and touches everyone, this book about friendship, life, love and living in the moment and taking nothing for granted...a reminder we all need to hear...and listen to. I could not put this book down, it made me cry, laugh and take a closer look at my life. We should all be so blessed to have a friend like Alana in our lives. One never knows why people come into our lives and what impact they may have on it...take nothing for granted and treasure every moment. My brother was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, Farrah and Alana were both there to offer him and our family love and support.
Thank you Alana for having the courage to write and share this story. This is a book that will touch many lives...and help many....a must read for all ages...

I could not put this book down. It was that good. I was touched, inspired, amused -- and literally in tears by the final chapter. Alana Stewart's journal is the perfect tribute to "America's Angel". I am a changed person after reading this. I heartily recommend it to anyone and everyone who needs a primer course in real friendship, real love, real real faith and real courage. A beautiful book from cover to cover -- with one warning -- it'll absolutely break your heart, but it will lead you through a personal journey toward deeper soul understanding.
