Do not let the cover fool you. This is a great book witg well developed characters. It is over a 1000 pages and it kept my attention all the way through. I would read another novel by this writer.

This story was so lovely. Not too many love scenes, which I appreciated in a romance, and the characters were great! I'm now following the author's blog and her new story in progress called "The Baron's Lady." I think that one will be my favorite of the trilogy. :)

The family portrayed in this novel is one we all aspire to have. The joys and sadness that come with truly living are there but the strength of family makes them easier to endure. I really enjoyed the writing style, the depth of the characters made the book even better. I purchased this book on sale and didn't realise there was a book bofore this one. I will have to read it next. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, complete story of romance.

I'm not usually a fan of romance type novels but this one was rather good. I appreciate that there was not a lot of the trite and typical verbiage so often found in romances!

Historical romance and suspense. Long book, but could not put it down. Highly recommended!

A thousand plus pages that move right along and the story goes full circle. Don't let the cover throw you off. Times change, but not the basic behaviors of mankind - a very good read.

What a surprising delight for a free book! It is over 1000 pages and an excellent read if you wnjoy medieval romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the twisted and turns of this novel. Just when you think you can foresee what will happen, you're brought an unexpected turn. I found myself wanting to steal a few moments during the day to read instead of just my nightly ritual, just so I could find out what would happen next. I love that the characters were real to life and appropriate to the era in which the setting was diplayed. And though i usually like my love scenes a little steamier, the ones in this book were sweet, and appropriate to the characters. Overall, I highly recommend!

I love this story. The way it startsas a little compatition between the two men. And of course the right man got the fair lady in his arms. The love between Simon and Evie, was so romantic how the love spark between the two of them. Simon is a man that i wish was real so loving and protective of Evie. Ugh simply amazing

Very well written long story with in-depth character descriptions. Minimal sex. Pretty clean. Be sure to read the Prologue. I guess this is a sequel but I haven't read the first one yet.

I really enjoyed this book. My favorite character was Simon and from the beginning I hoped that Evelyn would grow to love Simon and not be fooled by sweet talking Rene. After reading My Lady Gisborne, I became curious about the life of Guy of Gisborne (Evelyn's father) and why he fought against showing public displays of affection. So I also read The Tempest, A Guy Gisborne Story and was not disappointed. I could not put either book down. The Tempest happens before Lady Gisborne, but each is a standalone book. I would read other books by Charlotte Hawkins.

I love love love this book but with that said it was rushed in varies parts all too often. The characters were amazing and well chiseled out and kept you craving for more to just find out what happens next. I really did like this authors thought process and choice of era to write this book in, she did well for writing in the time frame. All and All I would give this books a B plus, mainly because she rushed scenes and left the reader a little confused and could have extended others even if it ment a longer book. Still a MUST READ!!

With nice sweet moments and tortures of war but lots of happy endings

I tend to be fairly picky about my books, but this was so good i had it read in less than 2 days! A must-read for anyone who enjoys a good historical romance novel. I will warn you that there are a couple of sections not intended for the younger crowd... Just saying.

Then you are probably also a Guy of Gisborne fan. This story is actually book two of Guy of Gibornes story. Book 1 is called The Tempest. Both books are AMAZING!!! I couldn't put it down. When I realized what I was reading, I quickly went and got book 1 first and read that one thru before continuing with this one. And of course, any scene with Guy, I just picture the sexy Brit actor, Richard Armitage from the tv series. What a wonderful way of giving Guy of Gisborne a happy ending. Book 3 is coming soon too!
