    A most EXCELLENT album!

We received a copy of this cd for in store play and I have to tell you, I bought it as soon as it was released. It is just amazing. Orla's voice is just a beautiful as it always was. A favorite song of mine is A Distant Shore. If you are a fan of celtic music and/or like performances by Celtic Woman, then you won't be disappointed by this cd. :)

    disappointing-again

The Orla I came to know & love in her CW (& pre-CW days) is not on this CD or the other 3 post-CW CD's. Gone is the rich, haunting voice that had such depth. Now she sings like a 6 year old. Think Jackie Kennedy (who has always been a favorite of mine but that voice...).She's now at her best when she sings with someone else as she does on a couple of the post-CW CD's. Then you hear a trace of that depth & richness that were so uniquely hers. But solo, she's reverted back to childhood. She's also mostly substituted her harp for percussion. She was my favorite CW of all time so I kept buying her CD's hoping she'd stop this childlike manner of singing but 4 is enough. If I had never heard Orla's rich, full of depth voice, I might feel differently but I did hear that voice-often-both on the CW & pre-CW CD's and in person 5 times so I know she can do it (apparently her speaking voice, like Jackie's, is soft & childlike & she can't help that)-she just doesn't anymore. There are some songs on this CD that were on prior CD's & the difference is like night & day & not in a good way.

A Must-have for fans of former Celtic Woman Angel Orla Fallon!

For the many fans of former Celtic Woman Orla Fallon the world over, her solo releases cannot come often enough and this one is certainly no exception! In addition to songs you may have heard her sing: Isle of Innisfree, Distant Shore, My Land and songs she sang with Celtic Woman(Mo Ghile Mear, Spanish Lady), you'll hear her delightful treatment of the former Cat Stevens hit Morning Has Broken, Both Sides Now and Down To The River to Pray which you may recall from the Coen brothers movie O Brother Where Art Thou. Orla's fans cannot afford to miss this one! And,for an added visual dimension, the DVD contains some glorious scenes of her performing the numbers in Ireland both in concert and in beautiful historical settings around the country and so the companion DVD really should be purchased also. She is accompanied by some fantastic musicians, as well as special guests such as the Dubliners, Tommy Fleming and the Dublin Gospel Choir! You really don't want to miss this wonderful treat from Orla!
