About the Author:

Stephen T. Johnson is an award-winning fine artist who has illustrated many books for children, including Hoops and Alphabet City. The recipient of a Caldecott Honor, he lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Filled with all the things one needs to make things, this "toolbox" has 7 sturdy working tools, an erasable slate to write on, and bolts and screws that really turn! Tools are removable 2-dimensional cut-outs imbedded in pages. It also teaches concepts, colors, counting, and shapes, and provides hours of just plain fun.

    Perfect for Little Fixers!

    My 3 1/2 year old received this book for Christmas and never tires of reading and playing with it. The cardboard tools are sturdy and really work. A very unique book/toy!

    A GREAT INTERACTIVE BOOK

    This book is great for young boys as well as girls. Each page contains a tool that is similar to a puzzle piece that the child can take out and use on the facing page. For example, there is a wrench and on the facing page there are small nuts to be turned by the wrench. I have given this book as a gift to many children and they all love it.
