WOW! Exceeded my expectations. I could not put this book down. This book was painful, sad, shocking, and yet I could not put it down. I had to read every word. This book will be my book club selection.

118 pages of a culture that I was never aware. So thankful to the author for bringing it to light in this form. Just awesome. I always planned on taking a trip to the Motherland, now I know exactly where I wanna go & who I want to help.

I consider McFadden one of my favorite authors. I felt the dialogue in this book was amatuerish. One description for example was Abebe adams apple moved nervously... The character is a girl! Anyway, as always Bernice McFadden paints a picture that comes to life in the readers mind. This one however needed a little more work..
