I have loved previous books from this author. Lady of Desire if one of my all-time favorites. So i was excited to read this one when it was released. Im sorry to say that it didnt live up to my expectations. Bland characters, bland predictable storyline, just never grabbed me. I sure hope this author hasnt run out of good stories.

This book was terrible...the worst one in the whole series in my opinion. Grace acted more like a teenager than a 25 year old. I had to force myself to finish it only because I've liked the whole series so far.

I read this book because my sister gave it to me. Not impressed. The preachers daughter could not have been  More holier than thou and so uptight it was hard to even tolerate her. The hero was ok but i get tired of the self loathing bit. I wouldnt waste  My time with it.

I really enjoyed this book. Having invested time in reading the entire series, I'm looking forward to Nick's story. I think the author does an overall good job with her Regency period romances. But I agree with some of the other reviewers that this author's use of crude language detracts from the romance.

This book is boring, the characters are boring and the storyline is disappointing to say the least. I couldn't even finish the 1st paragraph! Money wasted!

The story is great with lots twist and turns. The hero has ghost/secrets to put behind him, and our heroine is just the lady to help him. Their love story takes you for spin and you will love the ride.

I wanted to love this book, but it didn't live up to her usual high caliber writing. The heroine and hero had no chemistry. The heroine seemed to be out of character later in the book regarding her actions with the hero. Her love scenes were less romantic. I've noticed as I read in another post that her language has become a bit more crude in this regard which for me as well is not appealing.

If you want to read an exciting, romantic and sizzling love story, you won't want to miss this one.

This was an interesting book to read. Really liked it. There was not as much intrique as the previous books in the series but of course the war was at a end. I still enjoyed Grace and Trevor's story. Nick's story will be the last in the series coming later. I can't wait for it.

Usually I absolutely love or really enjoy Gaelen Foley's novels. Her 1st two books in The Ascension trilogy, Her Only Desire from the Spice Trilogy and The Dangerous Duke from this latest are some of the most enjoyable. Sadly, this book was very disappointing and as a number of reviewers had said rather bland and boring. The pastor's daughter idea was fine, but the character was a bit dull and it seemed very out of character that she would easily fall in bed with the hero and not inline with her character. Another thing I noticed was in her earlier books her love scenes were lush and the language was more gentile. Her current love scenes use a few more crude words I rather think detract from them, just in my view. I am still looking forward to her future historical books.

I am a big fan of all her books but her latest is really really bad.  Since the beginning of the book it was such a weak story line.  Can't believe I spent my money on it.  Whoever actually gives this book 5 stars does not know a good book.  She has written so many better books than this.  Ever since her Spice Trilogy her books have been at best 3 stars, except maybe for Daphne and Max's story.  I mean seriously that whole "gang" scene felt like it was written in b/c well Trevor had to use his spy skills  and show the "evil" side of him to his oh so virtuous "preacher's" daughter.  A stupid little pimp got the best of him?  Trevor must've been the worst of the agents if he let that happen.  And oh the stricken look on Grace's face made him sick to his stomach?  Oh Please,! completely weak and so predictable. Hopefully her next story, which I'm hoping is about Nick, will be much better. Crossing my fingers, because her last 2?  complete disappointments.

After waiting for the longest time for this book to come out, I was very disappointed. Most of the story is quite boring as it tells of the two main characters being on a farm (but no exciting action or fun that you would imagine they'd have on a farm)-unless you call hero watching heroine take care of poor, boy falling into a little river, families's back stories that are altogether unrelated to forwarding the story's interest (boring). There is little action and the hero rarely does anything heroic in terms for helping the heroine. He is this great spy of a man that fought/spied for the crown before his cover was recently blown, but never do we get to see him do anything spectacular. He does "save the day" by hiring people for jobs on the farm and renovations...and he does "save" the heroine and a reformed whore from her past "owner"... but that was the extent of the "bad guy" and it only came at the very end (and I mean the very end, last pages. It seemed like the Gaelen Foley decided after writing a boring book that she actually did need some action so she tacked it in at the end. Very disappointing. What kind of hero is this...so stupid. She definitely forgot how to write captivating stories or did not care enough for this book. I love Gaelen Foley books and have every book that she's written. Unfortunately, this one is the worst and it was not worth my wait and money. Save your money and wait for it to come to the library, skim through it at a bookstore, or simply don't read it.

I was eagerly anticipating this installment in the series and I was not disappointed! This was a great story and I loved the relationship between Trevor and Grace - I also enjoyed the parallel story lines. I cannot wait for Nick's story!
