Overview

This is the third book of the series. Martin Deveraux, Clay's brother and Bennie's brother-in-law, was introduced in Lucky in Love and played a pivotal part in Until the End of Time. Now he's the hero, albeit a reluctant one. After a tragic accident left him scarred and ended his marriage to an unfaithful wife, Martin became a reclusive loner. His romantic soul is hidden beneath layers of pain and bitterness and he made a vow to never get close to anyone ever again. Ceylon Simmons, the bubbly and beautiful singer, didn't get that memo, however. She saw him for the first time at Clay and Bennie's wedding and was smitten on the spot. Over the years she's made her interest in him plain, but he was always cool and controlled around her, even though he was equally attracted to her. They had a romantic moment in Unti the End of Time, but nothing came of it until Ceylon's life took a big turn in the wrong direction. Her manager mishandled her finances and stole every penny, leaving her with a huge tax lien. It was bad enough that she'd been deceived, but the man who robbed her blind was her own brother. Ceylon worked herself into a state of physical and emotional exhaustion to straighten out her finances but it took a tremendous toll on her. Bennie and Clay shipped her off to the family vacation home on St. Simon's Island, Georgia, so she could rest and recuperate. Martin had no idea she was there or he would've stayed far away because Ceylon was very hard for him to resist. But he did show up at the house while Ceylon there. She was polite but distant, which wasn't her normal demeanor at all. When he found out from Bennie why she was hiding out on St. Simon's and what she'd been through, Martin was furious on her behalf. She was way too sweet and caring for this to have happened to her. In the days that followed, they both let down their guards and what had been friendly flirtation turned into blazing passion. Even after a sneaky papparazzo found them and plastered pictures all over the media, they still managed to hold on to their love. But when Ceylon's brother is finally brought to justice, a dark secret from Ceylon's past threatens to shatter everything she's worked so hard to regain. It could wreck her career as well as the reputation of her mentor, who happens to be Martin's stepfather. Ceylon has to face down her worst enemy in order to keep the people she loves from being destroyed.

    Passionate, sensual, laugh-out-loud funny.

My One and Only Love is the kind of book I relish. I was immediately engaged in the story line, because I'd already met the main characters, Ceylon and Martin in Ms. Schuster's previous novels, Lucky in Love and Until the End of Time. Please read them if you haven't done so. They were both fantastic. Ceylon Simmons is a singer/actress whose brother, acting as her business manager, ran off with her fortune. That was three years ago. Since then, Ceylon has been working her butt off trying to pay off everyone before the IRS throws her into jail. One day, she collapses on a movie set and her good friends, Bennie and Clay, who are also the movie's producers insist that she take a much needed rest. Clay suggests she use his family's vacation home on St. Simon's Island off the coast of Georgia. And wouldn't you know it? Clay's brother, Martin, shows up while Ceylon is there. Now, Ceylon and Martin have a history: She has flirted outrageously with him for five years, and he has been the perfect gentleman darn it! Now, when Martin shows up, Ceylon doesn't even bat an eye in his direction. He is, frankly, disappointed. Secretly, he has enjoyed her flirting over the years. He must get to the bottom of Ceylon's change of heart. That's when he learns of her brother's theft of Ceylon's hard-earned money. I was so thrilled to see Ceylon and Martin finally getting together. If Ms. Schuster reads this, she should know: Martin and Ceylon are my favorite couple! I love them. Ceylon is a voluptuous woman (like me!). No skinny Minnies here. And Martin is so sexy. I admit, I was a little disappointed when he did what he did. Read the book, everyone, and you'll see what I'm talking about. But I definitely understood that he did it more for himself, and not for what others would think of him. This book has depth, passion, and a rollicking sense of fun. I am so tired of those dark, depressing books that so many authors are writing. I want something that makes me feel good about myself, and my man, too. This book has it all. My favorite scene: When Martin and Ceylon are sharing a tub and he massages her feet, pointing out the various erogenous zones, and then he takes her toes into...Oops. You've got to read it to find out what that big, sexy man does to her toes. Y'all, this is a winner! Go on, Ms. Schuster, with 'yo bad self!!!

THIS IS A MUST READ BOOK!!!

I first learned of this author from her book 'Until The End Of Time'. I was captivated by her style of writing, and was not disappointed with this book. It was fast paced, easy to read, comical at times and down right enjoyable. The romance between Martin and Ceylon was sizzling. I received the book on Wednesday afternoon and finished by that same evening!!!

    Highly Recommend

Very much enjoyed this series. Thus far, have read "Lucky in Love," "Until the End of Time," and My One and Only." I give all of them a five star rating. The books are written in a way that makes you feel as though you know each of the characters personally. You get so involved in the stories that it is difficult to put the books down. I am currently reading the sample of my fourth book "Something to Talk About," which is also part of the series. Happy reading; great epilogues.

    Hooray for love!

I really liked this 3rd book. Never have I rooted for two people to hook up more than these two! Hooray for blinded by love and proves once again: beauty is in the eye of the beholder! In my opinion, book 2 & 3 are way better than book 1.
