Overview

First Lady Audrey Graham was mortified to discover that her daughter Francesca was having an affair. What made things even worse was that her lover was a woman—and she was married to Francesca's brother Stiles! Now that Stiles has divorced Rena and she's left town, Audrey can't wait for things to return to normal with her family. But when Pastor Chauncey Graham's health takes a tragic turn for the worse, it brings the Graham family and Stiles's ex-wife back together again, and there is plenty of unfinished business.

Francesca is slowly beginning to heal and forgive herself, and God, for the mental and sexual abuse she suffered as a young child; but the hate she harbors toward her mother must also be laid to rest if Frankie has any hope of moving on with her life.

Stiles realizes soon after Rena leaves town that he still loves her, though his pride and shame won't allow him to reach out to her. He's in for a big surprise when she returns to Memphis accompanied by a handsome young stranger.

What's a family of God to do when life becomes this complicated?

    It's all about the aftermath...

After the fall out surrounding the dissolution of marriage between Stiles and Rena Graham does not avoid its share of controversy, no matter how hard all parties work to keep things silent. When Stiles can't leave well enough alone, and drops a devastating blow to the family's already deteriorating psyche, tragedy strikes. No longer able to run from their woes of their past, the Graham family must hold on to their faith more than ever.

This book was well worth the wait. Questions were answered that I didn't even know I had from the first book. It was seamlessly written, dropping religious pearls along the way. I admired the changes that each character made within showing that they could become the bigger person. I have already recommended this book to anyone who has read the first book in this series. Seeing the change in characters like Frankie, while still uncovering the fact that there was massive internal conflict, allowed the human aspect of this book to stay intact. No one was above reproach and in the end we all must answer to someone with a power higher than ourselves.

Forgiveness Is A Matter of Choice

My Son's Ex-Wife is the sequel to My Son's Wife by Shelia E. Lipsey. In this subsequent novel we find the divorced Stiles pondering feelings for his ex-wife Rena. Added to the his woes is his mother's determination to find him a suitable mate, his father's declining health as well as concerns for the health of his mother.

Through the ups and downs of the family Ms. Lipsey has woven a strong message for the necessity of forgiveness of self and others.

    Highly recommend

This is a great book. Hard to put down. This is part 2 of "My Son's Wife". Now on to the last sequal. Everything is coming to an end. I love a happy endings, but I'm hoping that it's not drama-free. Gotta love that too.

    Ready for the third book

First statement; The overview does not match the book description; the description is giving you a brief synopsis of her previous book "Beautiful Ugly".

This was a good read, it took me three days to complete this book and I could not put it down, even while working. I knew Frankie was about to revert back to her old ways, but she fooled me. I am so ready for the third book, because I know that new (wife) did something very crazy. No one is never that perfect except for God.. Ready for part three
