Overview

First Lady Audrey Graham adores her daughter's best friend, Rena Jackson. In Rena, Audrey finds the loving relationship she longs to have with her own troubled daughter, Francesca. When Audrey's son, Stiles, comes home from Duke Divinity School, Audrey is overjoyed because he has decided to follow in his father's footsteps in the church. Upon his return, Stiles finds Rena all grown up and quickly takes notice. It doesn't take long for the two of them to fall in love, but Rena's fairy tale life is disrupted when her old flame, Frankie, learns about the relationship. In this explosive novel, the old adage about what's done in the dark turns out to be more true than anyone can imagine.

Great drama revealing what happens in the dark comes out in the light. Great insight revealed on how trauma manifests. I like not figuring out the many plot twists. Poignant.

While the storyline was good, the majority of our members struggled to get through the book due to the writing style. The story seemed to jump from character to character, and left more questions than answers. It is an easy read and great if you are looking for summer reading! This was a very interesting book. The only negative I would say is, the author could have edited to book better. Other than that I would highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed reading this book! This book showed that people from all walks of life are sinners. Good story line.

The book was a good quick read. I would recommend that the book be re-edited prior to the next release/print. Spelling and grammatical errors through out the book. The author put a lot of thought into incorporating scripture and quotes from other authors in the book which helped to build the characters and the plot. I am looking forward to reading "My Son's New Wife". I hope that some of the characters in this book are given more depth. I can appreciate the message the author was trying to send through her characters.

This book had a different story line that kept you guessing what was going to happen next. I liked the bible verses being intertwined into the story. The author made the point that we should not condemn others just because their sin appears to be bigger than another. It was a good lesson to learn. The ending was unexpected for me. I'm about to start on the next book.

Pastor Chauncey Graham and his wife, First Lady Audrey Graham have two children, Francesca and Stiles. Stiles' is following in his father's footsteps in the ministry. All he needs now is a good woman by his side. First Lady Audrey believes that woman is Francesca's best friend, Rena Jackson. But there may be more to Rena than meets the eye. Once secrets from her past are exposed, will she still fit into the First Family? I loved Shelia Lipsey's "My Son's Wife." Five stars are simply not enough. In addition to the drama, it was an eye opener about Christianity. If there's one lesson to be learned, it's that people shouldn't be so judgmental. I didn't like how it ended and I am hoping it's because there will be a sequel. "My Son's Wife" is good reading and I recommend it. Reviewed by: Marcella

Shelia Lipsey is with out a doubt a great writer. The story she tells is one you can relate to. It¿s not to over the top with preaching, and not the typical urban Christian novel. Her detail for writing is of expertise. She has the passion in My Son¿s Wife. Meeting Frankie and Rena was like meeting someone you knew. Not only do you know someone like them, you can understand and feel their struggle. I read this story so easily. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Will the secrets get out? How can a woman cope with having a same sex lover and turn around and marry her brother? Can you see the drama, the secrets, and the betrayal? I highly recommend My Son¿s Wife, not only does Lipsey teach the word of God in this urban tale, she allows us to walk in her characters shoes. You will know more about your self when you are done reading this story.
