Fast forward to the future when outer space is no longer the final frontier, but the ultimate vacation destination!

My Tourist Guide to the Solar System & Beyond catapults armchair astronauts on a wild exploration of the planets, moons and stars. By way of a quirky guidebook approach, young readers will survey the lay of the land by hiking the Mariner Valley on Mars, collecting icy pebble souvenirs from a flight through Saturn's rings, and bouncing on the gravity-light moon Enceladus. Stunning images and photographs combine with text boxes detailing "Things to see" and "What to pack" to create an out-of-this-world experience for all.

My Tourist Guide to the Solar System & Beyond is bound to be an astronomical success!

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The premise is a voyage though our solar system with stops at planets, moons, and asteroids. While this is not possible, it is an interesting approach to presenting plenty of good information in an engaging manner. The story unfolds with a trip to the center of our solar system—a visit to the sun. After presenting basic facts and excellent illustrations there is a little humor, in this case a box that notes "Every day is a sunny day at the solar system's star attraction." There are also warning symbols to let reads know that in this case the sun gives off harmful ultraviolet and x-ray radiation. Along the bottom of each spread is a presentation of the solar system and more. It moves logically from the center (the sun) to outer space and black holes. There are stops at the now eight planets, dwarf planet Pluto, and stops at Io and Europa—two of Jupiter's more fascinating moons. The "Tourist Tips" will probably stick in the minds of young readers while older ones may just marvel at the fantastic photographs of our amazing solar system. It is a great journey and the only negative is the plastic keychain which lowers the age range for the book's appeal. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
