One of the greatest devotionals EVER! If you are looking for insight, to grow and be stretched spiritually...Utmost is def one to purchase. Chambers does not candy coat the gospel and I LOVE that!!!

Very thought provoking, and for the most part easy to understand. I have had a few instances where I have had to reread a paragraph a couple of times to understand something, but very good. I have had maybe up to 10 Christian and non Christian books over the years, and this is probably the best one. The only negative thing I can say is that since this is an inexpensive paperback, a bookmark must be used to keep track of the page, and if I had known this was such a good book I would have bought the more expensive version with a hard cover and attached ribbon. On the other hand, my wife, who's native language is not English, also uses this book. She finds the language a bit harder to understand, yet is still able to comprehend the daily reading at her level.

Ten years ago, a friend gave me a handy, leather-bound copy of My Utmost. I've been doing the daily readings off and on ever since. In my mind this is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. 1. It never gets old. Today's passage seemed fresh and insightful, as if it were written just for me, just for today. The funny thing is, last year when I read this same passage I felt the same way. And I'll probably feel the same next year. 2. Resist the urge to get the updated language edition. It's OK, but you'll be missing out on an added blessing. Chambers writing may take some getting used to, but you'll be glad you did. Not only does he know just what to say, he knows just how to say it. 3. Pass it on to a friend. Just as my friend gave me that copy of My Utmost, ten years ago, I keep extra copies on hand so I can return the favor by passing the gift along. In Short: I can't recomend this one highly enough.
