    A Place just For Me
Author Amada Perez truly captures the main characters feelings and thoughts in this picture book. "My Very Own Room" is written in first person point of view and that allows us to feel what she is feeling and know what she is thinking. The illustrations help facilitate the readers perspective of how small the home is, and the large amount of people that live their periodically. Not only do the pictures give the words meaning and understanding but they also permit the reader to see the expressions on the main characters face. In the beginning we notice the aggravation she is feeling, and then we see the sadness and wanting of her own room. Later we view the love between her and mother and presents the reader reason to why the mother clears out the storage closet to make a place for her daughter to call her own. This beautiful and vibrant picture book tells the story about a family working together to make a happier life for themselves and each other.

    Her Own Corner

When I read this book I could see how this could relate to some children in the United States. This little girl has several siblings, two parents, and some relatives that stay with her family. Her little house is always crowded and she just wants her space. Her family understands this, and tries their hardest to give the girl her own space in the house where she can have her privacy and can just relax and think. This book is written in both English and Spanish and aside from the cute touching story of the love of a family, this book also teaches some Spanish Vocabulary to English speaking children or vice versa.
