Loved David Leddick's 'My Worst Date' novel. Who wouldn't fall in love with the beautiful lovestruck 16-year old Hugo? What a great character who is naive and insightful at the same time. The object of his affection in love and lust is an older man, the bisexual Glen Elliott Paul. A knockout younger Paul Newman look alike, who seems to have no problem romancing Hugo and his mother at the same time. With the lush background of the Miami/South Beach area, Leddick knows his settings. The dialogue is smart, sexy, witty and moving. Would love to see a sequel a few years later to this, so the reader can see what's happened with Hugo and Glenn Elliott.

I really enjoyed reading this book and would like to think that there are young gay men as smart as the main narrator. I can't believe that there are three teens in South Florida or anywhere else whose allusions are to 40s popular culture. There's a hurricane and a bisexual lover almost as selfish as one of E. Lynn Harris's.
