All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Mya's eponymous debut is a smooth, sultry collection of well-crafted contemporary urban soul that is actually richer than the average urban record the late '90s. That's because many of the songs on the record are loosely about a teenager becoming a woman, which is a subject Mya can convincingly sell. There are a few weak moments, to be sure, but overall it's a thoroughly promising debut.

    stop doggin

Mya is a great artist, she has been tryin for years and has done a great job. Mya's lyrics are are very strong and down to earth. Mya works her hardest for the fans, at least you can appreciate that and stop doggin her, because I don't see you doing it.

Mya is and will always be, the best !!

I listen to Mya all the time and I really enjoy her songs, she is real good. I personally feel that people shouldn't try to dis her like that because I am pretty sure that they can't do any better!

I liked it and If I had a chance to make a song I would!

If I had a chance to be someone like her making songs and stuff I would. Only because I want to be a singer making my own stuff to. When I grow up I want to become famous and do whatever I can just to do what I like to do.

    Mya

Mya sings very good, but she does need to work on some better songs. As good as her voice sounds, she shouldn't be singing wack songs.

    Listen........

Sounds like the first reviewer doesn't know what a beautiful voice sounds like. I think Mya has a strong and appealing voice as well as down to earth lyrics. Keep the music coming Mya!!
