Any Myst fan should pick this up, a good excuse to pull out the tape player again. The full cast audio drama production is top notch and really engaging. Odd how such high quality work goes out of print.

Me and my siblings started playing the games before we read the books - Riven being the first game we played. So we were thrilled to hear that there were books! This trilogy has been among one of my favorites of all times. The descriptions, in-depth characters, places, the thought of going to other worlds through a book! This series will always hold a special place on my shelf and my heart shall always quicken when picking them up. I hope they write more!

The author is exceedingly smart and he likes to remind us of this through his more than impressive vocabulary. At times, it can be a bit much for the average casual reader. If you accept the fact that you might feel a bit less than worthy of a college degree after reading it, you'll find a rich and intriguing story that's not to be missed.

I have never played the Myst game and i still found that the book was the best i have ever read! I am curently reading Myst: the book of Ti'anna I hope that one will be as good as the book of Atrus.

I loved the book of Atrus, but thats because I played Myst the cd game by cyan first. What about the people in the world whom haven't played the game. For instance my friend whom never played the game tried to read the book of Atrus but she only got half way into the book when she told me that she stopped because it wasn't very descriptive. So I read it again and noticed alot of references to information only found in the myst game.

This is a must read for Myst fans. To enjoy the game to the fullest, the history must be know. The book of Atrus tells of Atrus's childhood and helps the reader to understand what they are seeing in the game. It brings the game to life and answers a lot of questions concerning Catherine and Atrus along with what Atrus is like.

Anyone who loves the game, is into Sci-Fi, or just enjoys a great book will love this! It is just full of suspense, disbelief, anti-trust, hatred, and love (to name a few of the emotions presented). You never really can predict what's going to happen, because it's never as it appears. There is always a catch, a plan, a scheme, or a trial. I don't like reading very much, and have only read 10 books outside of school on my own, and this is one I just could not put down! (I'm talking staying up till 2:00 in the morning on a school night just to see what happens because chances are I'm not going to sleep till I know!) Check it out! I promise it'll be worth your while!
