Overview

Spencer Kane, finds himself in the middle of peculiar, even paranormal situations that affect many of the lake residents. Spencer and his friends unknowingly cause the events to intensify and become more violent, bringing even more danger to those who haven't yet fled the lake in terror.

Excerpt: The voice appeared to come from inside the tunnel. I slowly lowered myself down to the bend to get a better look. I didn’t hear anything. I called out “Is anyone down here? Do you need help?” I turned back to where the flashlight was aimed, and immediately saw two shining circles, resembling eyes glowing from the light, and looking in my direction. Before I could make another move, I heard. “Please help me.” “Who’s there? I asked again. As I watched the shiny spheres, they began moving closer and closer. I stared at them at first, not certain if the person in trouble was approaching me, or if I should be running for my life from something evil. As the eyes drew closer, I could now make out a figure. It looked strangely familiar.
Then I realized the figure was the little girl I had seen in my nightmare. The same one who had disappeared in the lake and hasn't yet been found.

Meet the Author

I'm married and live in Indianapolis, IN with my husband and baby Ziva (2 1/2 year old Pom/Shih-Tzu mix). I worked in the insurance industry for 34 years before starting my first book. I love the outdoors (except for the bugs), boating, fishing, cruising and traveling to new places. I love seafood, especially fresh lobster and catfish! Friday is normally pizza night. I'm very detailed (to a fault), and have been the family cruise planner, itinerary organizer and travel consultant; and think I still hold the title for most efficient dishwasher packer!

Right up front the story lets you know that there will be more than one book for this character. It is a very fast paced written book. I was pleased to hear names of towns I knew and grew up in. I wanted to get more of the story when it ended. The second book is not out yet. Bummer. I will have to get at least the second book to see how this adventure ends. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

I couldn't put the book down but you need to read the second book to find the ending to the story. I can't say more on that because I'm going to start that book now.

I really enjoyed this book.. it was the second part to Mystery at Shadow Lake...only shorter.... it seemed like I no more started it and I was finished.. lots of action, tense moments and humor.. left you wanting it to go on and on ... would make a good movie.... and I can't wait to read the next one.

This book, written in the first person, would be an especially good youth or teen mystery. It keeps you interest and certainly leaves you wanting to get the next installment in the series.

The book ended before the mystery was resolved. If you want to continue the story you must buy another book and I'm not going to keep buying books because the author can't resolve the story in one book. Totally disappointing.

This book is mysterous and strange

This book was boring and too slow paced for me. There are long running conversations between people that do not have anything to do with the mystery. Lots of words but little actual story

it was a cute story - Hardee Boys style mystery - the only thing that I didn't like was that it keeps continuing - I like to finish a book & move on - but I guess I will read the third book that comes out Summer of 2012

I really enjoyed this book. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I was a little disappointed that I'd have to get the 2nd book and wait for the 3rd book to come out but I think it will be worth it.

Apparently the story is going to be in installments. If you don't like this type of book, don't bother to read it.

this book was really good for a free find. I was eager to see what was going to happen

It was ok. It was a short story that was pretty drawn out, too much of minute by minute play of the main characters day. While it tried to build up some suspense, I thought it fell flat in the end. Very anti-climatic.

The book held my interest. Couldn't wait to read. However, I just found out that the book is part of a trilogy! Wasn't I disappointed! You need to buy the next installment, and it's only 94 pages. Wait to buy the set, or don't bother.

With 4 and 5 stars and the kind of story I enjoy, I thought this was a book for me until I got to the last page and found that there was no ending. Why is that not noted in the BN review? I read books with 800-900 pages that are complete. The author should have completed the novel. I feel like I wasted several hours reading this.
