I picked this book up as part of research for a high school paper on Robert Johnson, and ended up stealing the book from the school library. This book will change the way you listen to music; you will hear things you previously missed, you will mentally trace the history and influence of everything you hear hereafter. Rock and roll is more than what you hear on the radio - its the reflection of a culture, and if you don't understand that when you pick this book up, you will when you are finished. This is more than a book about rock and roll - it's a rock and roll history of America. Should be required reading for every history class in America.
