Okay Robert, the practice is over, get back in the saddle.

This long awaited return to the MYTH series is a disappointment. Asprin notes in his preface that he had a hard time getting back into the swing of the series, and it shows. Neither the pacing nor the characterizations are up to the usual standard. Which is probably a tribute to how well the other books in the series were done. The change from Donning Starblaze to Meisha Merlin did not further Mr. Asprin's cause in the least. The illustrator seems to have not bothered to read the book, and the drawings are dark and ugly. No where near the quick quirkiness of Freas or Foglio. Note to Meisha Merlin: Hire a new proof reader. There were so many typographical errors in this book it is obvious that no one bothered to do even a rudimentary spell check in the old word processor.
