The first Works Like Magick urban romantic fantasy is a fun lighthearted entertaining tale

The Roman soldiers were fighting when Killian the crone of Chaos cursed them; changing them into dragons and propelling them into an alternate reality on the Island of Stars. They have waited for centuries to come home as humans. Now they have a chance due to Killian's enemy Andra who enables one of them Bastian to return to Earth two millennia after the banishment spell as a human in search of his soulmate.

In Salem's End, the firm Works Like Magick hires magical temps for their clients. Viveca Quinlan hooks up Bastian as a handyman for McKenna Greylock, who must turn her bed and breakfast into a profit making venture or lose an estate that has been part of her family for centuries. .The land developer has other thoughts for the property and will do anything to obtain it. Only Bastian Dragonelli stands in the way, but his employer wants him to leave as she fears her attraction to her temp.

The first Works Like Magick urban romantic fantasy is a fun lighthearted entertaining tale that is filled with magic mostly because of the hero's struggles to adapt to modern society. Amusing yet with a serious subplot as no one escapes the wrath of Killian, fans will enjoy the naked Dragon who learns what a lance truly is and its true purpose from his beloved employer.

Forget vampires and demons, give me dragons!

Set in part of Salem, Massachusetts. McKenna Greylock needs to make a mortgage payment in time to beat a greedy developer, Elliott Huntley, at this own game. Problem is that McKenna has less than ninety days to do so. McKenna must get her Victorian bed-and-breakfast up to code before she can even have paying guests, which is all but impossible since her contractor fell off a roof and is now disabled. In dire need of a jack-of-all-trades handyman, McKenna contacts Vivica Quinlan who owns the Works Like Magick employment agency. ...........

Vivica sends Bastian Draonelli, but does not tell McKenna how "different" he really is. Bastian is a dragon warrior from the Island of Stars within a parallel plane of existence. Once a Roman Warrior before being changed into a dragon, Bastian has been morphed into a man once more in hopes of freeing his dragon brothers. To do so, Bastian must seek out his heart mate and make her quest his own. When Bastian breached the veil to our plane, two others slipped through with him. Jock is a small, blue guardian dragon. Dewcup is a mischievous teacup faery. But Killian, an evil sorceress, is determined Bastian will fail. ..................

***** FIVE STARS! Forget the vampires and demons, give me the dragons! Full of suspense, humor, and romance, this novel is sure to please any paranormal or fantasy fan. The pixie, Dewcup, is not the only bit of comedy relief. McKenna has a cat that insists on wearing a tissue box as a hat. Dewcup enjoys riding on the feline as if the poor thing were a horse. For anyone that has read the author's novel title "The Kitchen Witch", you will be treated to a cameo or two by Melody Seabright! I really enjoy how the author sometimes gives a cameo to one or more characters from another novel. This is just one more way the author makes her stories special for her readers. Annette Blair is one in a billion! ***** ...................

    Suzie Housley, Midwest Book Review

McKenna Greylock finds that time is not on her side; she has ninety days to restore her family bed-and-breakfast to the standards needed to meet the building inspector's approval. If she fails she will lose her property and the dreams of her mother and grandmother.

In desperation she enlists the services of Works Like Magick employment agency. The owner, Vivica Quinlan finds the perfect solution to McKenna's dilemma in the form of Bastian Dragonelli.

Bastian was once a Roman solider now he finds himself back on earth using his talents to fulfill McKenna's requirements of a handyman. As an added bonus he is devilish handsome. When McKenna learns that Bastian true dragon heritage will she be able to accept him for what he is?

Naked Dragon is the first in the Works Like Magick series. What a wonderful way to jumpstart what is to be a very highly entertaining saga. Annette Blair has once again proven she knows how to delight her fans.

Take to the beach/long wait on line/boring rainy day book!

Got up early, wrote out my "to do" list for the day while making a cup a tea. Waiting for my cup of tea to cool off, I started reading. Major mistake! I skipped lunch, went outside for a minute but rushed back into the house as if I was expecting company, and my "to do" was a big joke! I found myself cooking dinner on a low setting just to have more time to read. Of course my dinner took forever to cook - not a problem. I didn't even turn on the TV! Loved, loved, loved the story and characters. I hope the author will write sequels being that Bastion has brothers. I loved his little friends especially the fairy with an attitude! Cute. I agree with the other readers who wrote that it was a nice change from reading about vampires and werewolves. The reader complaining about the manlance being mentioned so many times? Respectfully, I would rather read manlance many times over than the other referenced words which my delicate senses find too harsh! ; - ) Kudos to the author!

Wow! I just did not enjoy this one!!!

I am amazed as I read the reviews! I found the plot, charicters, action and sexual tension cheesy and contrived. And I stopped reading it about 75 pages in. They said manlance one too many times. Glad that everyone else enjoyed it though. I guess it proves...each to their own.

    Off beat Dragon story.

Annette Blair has thing for magic in her stories. This tail has taken her in a new direction that I like as I have a thing for Dragons. The story is offbeat, magical and more times funny. She brings back characters from other books, but doesn't focus on them, good job.
The 'hero" Dragon only shifts twice in the book. For a shifter that is boring. I think there could have been more drama or more laughs had he done it more offen. Still the book was great and I couldn't put it down.

Great Book!!

    Amazing

Naked Dragon was simply amazing. It kept my turning pages, laughing, ahh-ing, and at the end- crying. I fell completely in love with Bastian and I found myself wanting to take him out of the book and keep him all for myself! :) This is a fantastic book, one of her best! Out of five stars I would rate this book a 9! A MUST READ!

Predictable and a little slow moving

I like reading books in a Series so I was hoping that this book would peak my interest. It wasn't bad but the plot was pretty predictable, think of the damsel trying to save her homestead from the evil villain and she is aided by the handsome drifter and you have the entire plot in one sentence. If the plot is going to be a rehash of an age old situation then I really want to care about the characters and frankly there wasn't enough here to make me care.

    laugh out loud funny

A great story, that was hard to put down. The best part was the way he was soooo literal about everything! To bring a dragon into the modern world was too funny. The only thing preventing a full 5 star was that the "evil" villian was kinda more in the way than an added plot element. I skimmed most of that to get back to the fun of the interaction of the main characters. Definitely worth the read though, and one I would gladly read again and again.

Good Read Annette Blaire Strikes Again

First off I love Annette Blaire's writting. She is awesome. I love all of her witch novels. However after reading so many of her books I have come to judge her by what i love about her.

I love her storyline in the book. A great read for any Dragon lover! But I kept finding myself turning back and saying, "Wait when did they reach this place?!" With no evidence except a mild hint of a character.

All in all though. I loved this book. Annette Blaire sure knows how to write a story that pulls you in!
