Overview

Brooke Burke knows all too well that when raising four children, running a household, tending a relationship, building a multimillion-dollar business, and pursuing a television career, there's no room for pretense or posturing. Rejecting the idea that there's some simple step-by-step path to the Perfect Body, the Perfect Relationship, or the Perfect Career, she reveals the truths about motherhood with the sincerity that today's smart, sexy, and soulful moms need. Brooke lets readers know what really goes on behind the scenes of her surprisingly ordinary life as a celebrity mom, and how she manages to make it all work...on a good day!

From tips on caring for themselves, to her own stories about the missteps she's made as a mother, to advice on how to handle the tough emotional challenges moms face, Brooke paints an honest picture of motherhood that all women can relate to, insisting that it's not about being right or wrong-it's about being their authentic, naked selves.

    Very boring read.

I would not recommend this book. She is a very dull writer with no sense of humor. It is written without color, in fact very bland and matter of fact. There were no pearls of wisdom. No inspiration. No useful tips. And I don't get the metaphor of "naked" as being authentic. Her authenticity is a real "yawn." I think "naked" is in this case just used to sell books. Don't waste your money. Better to spend it on anything written by Jenny McCarthy.

    Not all "Naked Truth"

I was disappointed that she didn't reveal the "naked truth" about when she was the girlfriend of LA Laker owner Jerry Buss, then dumped him, and moved in with convicted drug kingpin Dana Gold until he went to prison.

Waste of time reading this book.

This book is just ridiculous! What a waste of $26.00! It is all about how Brooke is "real" and how she just wants to help other mothers (all while she makes money pushing her products and promoting herself!)- She claims to come clean about her life, but fails to mention her slutty past and how she cheated on her ex husband, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Garth Fisher, with David Charvet. She talks around that part. She gives some practical advice on dieting, but nothing new about it. Most of the information she gives about parenting, dieting, and exercise comes right out of the pages of magazines like Self, Shape, etc.

I DO NOT Recommend this silly book.

This book says nothing new. All the advice in it is stuff we have all heard and read before. I feel like Brooke read through a bunch of magazines for advice to give and then added some stories about her personal life. Save your time and money.

    Great Read!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I found it easy to read, genuine, real and at times funny. Great tips on finding your OWN balance.

    Boring and Redundant

This book put me to sleep. I actually returned it because it was so boring and totally redundant. It basically is Brooke's blogs put into a book. Then she basically tries to teach people how to use the internet, as if we didn't know how to use it already! This woman is desperately trying to brand herself and the modern mom, but nothing she writes about is new or helpful. She also seems very materialistic - always talking about her LV bag, Chloe dress, or Chanel bag. Who cares about this C-List celebrity!!

    Fun and thoughtful

This was surprisingly candid and reflective for a celeb book. Lots of very funny stories any parent/grandparent can relate to, and she doesn't hesitate to share her own worst mommy moments and what she learned from them. Loved her chapters on spicing up the romance in your life, and seeing life as an adventure. She doesn't try to set herself up as Ms Perfect and suggest you do everything your way. The tone is more like a great conversation over a bottle of wine or pot of tea with your bff. If you're such a prude you can't get past the cover, then open your mind and open this book. It's a treat.

    Expected More

She tries to be humble, but it is very hard to relate to her.
